The Copper Man was a strange creature sighted over 200 years ago near Portsmouth, UK. It was described as being 4ft tall with glistening copper skin and no facial features.

Description of the Copper Man of Portsmouth

The Copper Man was described as being about 4ft tall, had a muscular build and an unusually large head. The creature had no mouth, eyes or nose. It was copper in color and had a metallic sheen.

The Copper Man wore no clothes and had the ability to fly and walk on water.

This paranormal tale may not be as well-known as other spooky stories, but it certainly falls into the category of strange and unexplained phenomena.

Sightings of the Copper Man were first reported in the late 18th century and continued into the start of the 19th century.

A reader of British Paranormal wrote in, telling of some strange information he had found while researching another topic. He found a diary belonging to Henry Albert Brand, a bookbinder who lived and worked in Hampshire in the late 18th century.

The diary chronicled Brand’s various trips in and around the county, as well as personal history and local stories of interest. On September 6th, 1798, an entry in the diary made reference to a tale that left the researcher dumbfounded.

According to the diary, a local vicar had sighted a human with metal skin while walking the country lanes near Farington. The vicar claimed that the man was no more than four feet in height, with a sturdy, muscular body and a large, bulky head.

His eyes were described as being like brightly polished shillings, “glistering” in the midday sun. Strangely, the Copper Man had no mouth, no nose, and no ears, and he wore no clothes.

In the early 19th century, strange sightings of a metallic creature began to cause a stir in the towns surrounding Portsmouth. The first account came from a man named Rand, who documented in great detail the panic that this creature caused in the surrounding areas. Rand noted that the creature had been spotted again near the reclaimed land of Tipner Lake, where a young farmer’s maid had witnessed a man of “metal flesh” emerge from the waters of the bay, walk several meters, and then disappear beneath the surface once again.

Initially, the researcher examining Rand’s diary dismissed the accounts as the ramblings of an insane mind. However, this comfort was short-lived when a second source emerged, a letter written by Dr. Geoffrey Bramwell, that attested to another sighting of a flying metal man causing panic in Portsmouth.

According to Dr. Bramwell’s letter, in 1801, a group of townsfolk gathered to exchange goods and produce in an open-air location near Portsmouth city center when a candle-maker let out a scream of terror. The cause of the scream was a “grim ghoul” with a skin of copper and a terrible countenance that emerged from a nearby copse and launched itself into the sky like a golden bird.

These accounts of the metallic creature caused widespread panic and confusion among the townspeople, leaving them wondering if these sightings were the result of mass hysteria or if there was something truly otherworldly happening in their midst.

Real Life “Men in Black”

The men in black encountered by hotel manager Shane Sovar in Niagara Falls

Hundreds of people over the years have reported encountering strange Men in Black after UFO sightings or witnessing other strange phenomena. Could these men really be government agents involved in covering up alien activity or even something more sinister?

Men in Black Encounters

Men in black encounters have been so common over the years that they have become the subject or many movies and TV tropes.

The basic Men in Black story goes something like this: someone sees a UFO in the sky or something unexplainable in their back yard. Before long two mysterious men appear, often in a black car, wearing dark suits and sunglasses.

These men threaten the witness of the paranormal phenomena, threatening them not to tell anyone about what they have seen, or trying to convince them that it was nothing out of the ordinary.

Here are a number of men in black encounters that have been documented over the years:

In June 1947, a man named Harold Dahl from Washington claimed that pictures he took of UFO debris were tampered with by a government agent who warned him to stay silent. This marked the first known encounter with a Man in Black.

In 1967, after a UFO crash in Ohio, Robert Richardson was visited by two men in black suits. Richardson had given a piece of UFO debris to authorities, but when he mentioned it to the men in black, they got angry and threatened him, saying he needed to return the metal if he wanted his wife to stay safe. They never contacted him again.

UFO researcher Jack Robinson in 1968 reported that he and his wife were harassed by a man in black in New Jersey. A friend managed to capture a photo of the supposed Man in Black.

In 1976, Dr. Herbert Hopkins in Maine claimed a strange man with unusual features appeared at his doorstep after a phone call. The man manipulated coins, ordered him to destroy his UFO research, and then vanished.

In 2002, while working on a UFO-related TV show, Dan Aykroyd witnessed a mysterious black car and its driver who later threatened him. The show was canceled shortly afterward.

In 2008, Shane Sovar, the manager of a hotel in Niagara Falls, and a security guard claimed to have spotted a triangular UFO outside their building. The Aerial Phenomenon Investigations Team, along with three additional witnesses, investigated the incident. According to their accounts, a few weeks later, two Men in Black visited the hotel, causing fear among the staff. The mysterious men were described as tall, with identical faces devoid of eyebrows or eyelashes, and extremely pale skin. They were inquiring about Sovar and the security guard, who were not present at the time.Security footage from the hotel is apparently the only known video evidence of a Man in Black encounter.

Who/What are the Men in Black?

There are two main theories circling the internet about the origin of men in black. The most prevalent is the theory that these men are super secret government officials trying to cover up the existence of aliens.

One important thing that makes us think the Men in Black might be connected to the government is how they always show up around the same time as UFO sightings. In the cases we discussed earlier, and many more, Men in Black appear right after people have seen UFOs.

Thinking about Men in Black as government agents makes sense because governments around the world are really interested in UFOs. They have special groups and programs to look into possible threats from unknown flying objects. In the United States, there was a secret program called the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), focusing on studying UFOs. Knowing about such programs tells us that governments are actively watching and studying UFO happenings.

Another good reason to believe Men in Black could be connected to the government is the way they try to make people stay quiet about their UFO experiences. People who meet Men in Black often talk about being scared or pressured to keep silent. In a case with Robert Richardson, he was warned about his wife’s safety if he didn’t give back UFO debris. This kind of behavior makes us think that these Men in Black might be working for the government and trying to hide information they think is important or secret.

The strange appearance and behavior of Men in Black also support the idea that they might be connected to the government. People who encounter them always describe them as looking the same, with no features on their faces, very pale skin, and almost acting like robots. This makes us think they could be trained individuals doing specific tasks without showing any personal feelings. The way they appear and disappear suddenly, as mentioned by witnesses like Dan Aykroyd, adds to the mystery around Men in Black and their possible government ties.

But some of the strange traits of the Men in Black has lead some people to believe that these men could be aliens themselves! One compelling argument for the extraterrestrial origin of Men in Black is the consistent correlation between UFO sightings and MIB appearances. Witnesses frequently report Men in Black showing up shortly after encountering unidentified flying objects. This pattern suggests a direct connection between the mysterious figures and the extraterrestrial phenomena witnessed.

Descriptions of the Men in Black often include their seemingly unnatural abilities, such as the sudden appearance and disappearance without a trace. Witnesses, including well-known figures like Dan Aykroyd, have reported these mysterious individuals materializing out of nowhere and vanishing without a discernible trace. Such feats defy conventional human capabilities and may indicate the application of advanced extraterrestrial technology. If Men in Black are indeed aliens, their mastery of otherworldly technology could explain their spooky appearances and disappearances.

Alien Voice “Vrillon” Interrupts TV Broadcast in the UK

Published

On the 26th November 1977, a strange Alien voice, calling itself Vrillon, interrupted a UK TV broadcast. It spoke of lights in the sky and urged humanity to embrace a more peaceful existence before it is too late.

The Vrillon UK TV Hack

On the evening of Saturday, November 26, 1977, during a news broadcast by ITN’s Andrew Gardner discussing clashes in Rhodesia, the audio suddenly changed. A strange buzzing sound was followed by a distorted voice speaking for about six minutes. The speaker identified as Vrillon, representing the Ashtar Galactic Command, an entity associated with extraterrestrial communication since 1952.

Reports vary on the name used, with some calling the speaker “Vrillon,” “Gillon,” or “Asteron.” The interruption ended, and normal transmissions resumed after a Merrie Melodies cartoon. Southern Television later apologized, referring to it as a “breakthrough in sound.” ITN also reported on the incident in its late-evening Saturday bulletin.

Vrillon’s Message

Here is the full transcript of Vrillon’s message:

“This is the voice of Vrillon, a representative of the Ashtar Galactic Command, speaking to you. For many years you have seen us as lights in the skies. We speak to you now in peace and wisdom as we have done to your brothers and sisters all over this, your planet Earth. We come to warn you of the destiny of your race and your world so that you may communicate to your fellow beings the course you must take to avoid the disaster which threatens your world, and the beings on our worlds around you.

This is in order that you may share in the great awakening, as the planet passes into the New Age of Aquarius. The New Age can be a time of great peace and evolution for your race, but only if your rulers are made aware of the evil forces that can overshadow their judgments.

Be still now and listen, for your chance may not come again. All your weapons of evil must be removed. The time for conflict is now past and the race of which you are a part may proceed to the higher stages of its evolution if you show yourselves worthy to do this. You have but a short time to learn to live together in peace and goodwill. Small groups all over the planet are learning this, and exist to pass on the light of the dawning New Age to you all.

You are free to accept or reject their teachings, but only those who learn to live in peace will pass to the higher realms of spiritual evolution. Hear now the voice of Vrillon, a representative of the Ashtar Galactic Command, speaking to you. Be aware also that there are many false prophets and guides operating in your world. They will suck your energy from you – the energy you call money and will put it to evil ends and give you worthless dross in return.

Your inner divine self will protect you from this. You must learn to be sensitive to the voice within that can tell you what is truth, and what is confusion, chaos and untruth. Learn to listen to the voice of truth which is within you and you will lead yourselves onto the path of evolution. This is our message to our dear friends. We have watched you growing for many years as you too have watched our lights in your skies.

You know now that we are here, and that there are more beings on and around your Earth than your scientists admit. We are deeply concerned about you and your path towards the light and will do all we can to help you. Have no fear, seek only to know yourselves, and live in harmony with the ways of your planet Earth.

We of the Ashtar Galactic Command thank you for your attention. We are now leaving the plane of your existence. May you be blessed by the supreme love and truth of the cosmos.”

Investigation into the Vrillon Hack

Back then, the Hannington television transmitter was unique because it rebroadcast a signal received from another transmitter, the IBA’s Rowridge transmitter on the Isle of Wight, instead of getting a direct connection through a landline. This made it susceptible to signal intrusion. If a low-powered transmission close to the rebroadcast receiver interfered, it could overwhelm the intended signal and lead to the unauthorized transmission being broadcast over a much larger area.

The IBA mentioned that pulling off such a prank would require a good amount of technical knowledge. A spokesperson for Southern Television confirmed that someone disrupted their transmitter in North Hampshire by using another transmitter nearby

After the strange broadcast, many local people got worried, and hundreds of them called Southern Television. The next day, the IBA (the broadcasting authority) said the broadcast was a prank, the first of its kind. News about the event spread worldwide, with American newspapers picking it up too.

Sir John Whitmore, speaking on the radio, questioned how newspapers reported the incident. Some people believed the “alien” broadcast was real, not just a transmitter hijack. A letter in a London Times edition asked if anyone could be sure it was a prank. A regional American newspaper suggested that maybe the broadcast wasn’t a joke.

Even in 1985, some people thought there was no clear explanation for the broadcast. In 1999, a kids’ TV show called It’s a Mystery, made by Southern Television’s successor, Meridian Broadcasting, featured the incident. They recreated it with pretend news reports and people watching at home.

Who was responsible for the Vrillon TV Hack?

No one has ever claimed responsibility for the Vrillon TV hack. Several theories have been floated about who may be responsible.

Some think it could be pranksters or people who know a lot about technology, taking advantage of the Hannington transmitter’s setup.

But, there’s also some who believe the idea that aliens, possibly the Ashtar Galactic Command, as mentioned in the mysterious message, might be responsible. The official narrative would claim the incident was clearly a hoax but suspiciously the documents relating to the investigation of the incident have disappeared from the archives. We may never know for sure exactly what happened.
