Since 1992, Paranoia: The Conspiracy & Paranormal Reader has presented alternative views and marginalized theories of the inner workings of the cryptocracy. Subjects include conspiracies, para-politics, alternative history, and the paranormal.

Paranoia was founded during the zine explosion of the early 1990s. The first issue had a black-and-white tabloid-style layout, with feature stories …starting on the cover and continuing inside. Over the years, Paranoia evolved into a 72-page print magazine published three times a year, with a print run that reached 15,000 copies. It was sold on newsstands throughout the U.S., the U.K, and Canada, as well as to subscribers.

Paranoia received a 2001 Award of Merit in the Writer’s Digest Zine Publishing Awards, and has been rated by Playboy magazine as a “Top 10 Zine.” Pagan Kennedy of The Village Voice called it “Weirdness on a grand scale …” containing “a dizzying web of connections.” Alternative book publisher New Paradigm Books recently stated that Paranoia is “an original and provocative thrice-yearly magazine, with an occasional compelling focus on women writers.”

In late 2009, Paranoia ended its nearly 20-year run as a print magazine and switched to a book format.

On October 10, 2011, it was formerly announced that Ron Patton, owner of ConspiraZine, former publisher of MKzine and writer for Paranoia, is the new owner and publisher of Paranoia Magazine. Ron plans on going back to a hard copy magazine, with four issues yearly, starting with a Spring 2012 edition.

Just a mere and simple utterance of the word, 9/11, or September 11th, or any other various related terms can stir up a caldron of emotion — and it runs the entire spectrum. From steadfast defenders of the government’s official explanation of what happened on 9/11 to those arguing theories of a deep, dark, evil conspiracy. There is no shortage of passion.

Join 23-year architect Richard Gage, AIA, in this feature length documentary with cutting-edge 9/11 evidence from more than 50 top experts in their fields — high-rise architects, structural engineers, physicists, chemical engineers, firefighters, metallurgists, explosives experts, controlled demolition technicians, and more. Each is highly qualified in his/her respective fields. Several have Ph.D’s — including National Medal of Science awardee Lynn Margulis. She, along with the other experts, exposes the fraud of NIST and discusses how the scientific method should have been applied and acknowledges the “overwhelming” evidence of high temperature incendiaries in all dust samples of the WTC. High-rise architects and structural engineers layout the evidence in the features of the destruction of these three high-rises that point inevitably to explosive controlled demolition.

9/11 family members and psychologists ground the technical information with heart centered support for a new investigation and a close look at the psychology of 9/11in this milestone production of Architects and Engineers for 911Truth: http://911ExpertsSpeakOut.org

Regardless of your personal beliefs about what happened on 9/11 we can all agree (as we’ve been told over and over again) that 9/11 has indeed fundamentally changed the world we all live in and experience every day.

By Virginia McCullough

On October 2, 2007 Newsmakingnews.com posted an article entitled “A Trip Down Memory Lane Featuring Ted Gunderson”.

On Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 2:17 a.m. this reporter received a mysterious email from someone using the internet handle angelicflyer@dslextreme.com. The subject line said “ARTICLE ON TED GUNDERSON” and excerpts from the body of the long email were written entirely in capital letters and read:

Well VMC I’m not sure what’s going on anymore but your article kind of proves the book of revelations of the holy bible is coming true, that (all corporations would be corrupted in the end times), apparently that includes the FBI but hey its the millennium, so chill out Gunderson know’s how to speak with his enemies and friend’s alike, he’s an expert it!!!

Gunderson’s connection to the Reagan/Bush administration was to his best friend Ronald Reagan not George Bush!….And for that reason, Gunderson holds a secretive cover post that is even higher then SAC. Something you keep forgetting VM, there are so many secret level’s of the US Gov and Reagan was anti-satanic cults anyhow. And so, like any classified caper, Kelly won’t be allowed to consummate his investigation against Gunderson. Likely he’ll get transferred. But you, of course, want some real evidence in that regard, don’t you!? Actually it falls under the war powers act, but I don’t have a section to quote you, but it allows the President to appoint any US citizen to do whatever he is called upon by the President and I’m surprised Clinton didn’t cite it with the sex scandal in office!?

But VMC, how come you’re not interested in the 9/11 victim’s family member’s lawsuit against the Bush admin!? It’s underway in Judge Patel’s court in San Francisco but how come the media doesn’t cover it? Does this mean they’re under some type of demonic control!? Shocking isn’t it!????

Angelic Flyer

My response to the discontented reader was to suggest that he simply cease to read my articles if he found their content upsetting. One week later Angelic Flyer wrote again using all capital letters but changing the subject matter to an individual I had never heard about:

Actually, it’s more what you don’t investigate that concerns me like the Desert Fae case but I can’t expect you to hear about everything, she has a web-site re the murder of her father at Cabazon! Sound familiar? I’ll let you guess the rest!

Angelic Flyer

At this time I had no idea who the writer was other than the person appeared to be an admirer of Ted Gunderson and he/she had some knowledge of the Alvarez triple execution that had occurred on or about June 29, 1981 at the Cabazon Nation. I spent the next hour researching the net trying to discover who I was corresponding with presently about this old case.

Just over an hour later, another email was received with a few more clues.

Actually Cabazon is being resurrected again with a triple homicide that you and other’s forgot about and you call yourself an investigative reporter!?

The Canadian government is flipping like a fish out of water over this and Desert Fae is haunting the DOJ…you’re on the late channel! Bye for good!

Now, I was the fish on the hook and curiosity was consuming me. I responded saying:

I am really not the least bit interested in wild goose chases. I have forgotten more about the Cabazon than you, Ted or all of those informants in Canada will ever know.

Later that evening another researcher contacted me and suggested that Michael Riconosciuto’s spokesperson, a woman named Anita Langley who identified herself as a cousin-by-marriage of Riconosciuto was working with the woman Angelic Flyer identified as Desert Fae.

I sent the following email to Angelic Flyer:

Thank you for confirming that all of the below comes out of Canada and probably either from Gordon Sivell or, more likely, Anita Langley. In my opinion Desert Fae is either Anita Langley’s lap dog or Ted Gunderson’s latest female on the hook. In either case both people report directly to the Puppet Master. – Look for my upcoming article on the Puppet Master.

Once again – thank you for letting me know who and what you are and where you come from.

At 6:33 pm on November 29, 2007 I heard once again from Angelic Flyer.

Nope…Desert Fae is rogue and let’s just think of all the law enforcement who covered it up!!!???

Guess those post certificates are worth about the same as the cereal brand! Will see what Jerry Brown is all about!?

On November 30, 2007 fellow researchers had sent me information indicating that Desert Fae was also known as Rachel Boger or Rachel Begley and that she said she was the daughter of Ralph Boger, who had been killed with Fred Alvarez and Patricia Castro in Rancho Mirage. That same day I phoned and emailed Sgt. C. Ford of the Riverside Sheriff’s Office regarding Desert Fae and the Alvarez executions.

During the following month I determined that the real identity of Angelic Flyer was Patrick Michael O’Shea a California private investigator and long time supporter of Ted Gunderson and Michael Riconosciuto.

Desert Fae also posted a 3 minute video entitled “Virginia McCullough and Her Games” and in that video she accused this reporter of violating a judge’s order, which was a blatant lie as was a statement she later made stating that I lunched with Dr. Sid Siemer.

Finally on December 30, 2007 I received two more emails from O’Shea using the handle Angelic Flyer. They arrived one hour apart and read as follows:

I’ve been kept on a leash for a long time, it’s about to be removed…law enforcement corruption kept me at bay but they are the one’s who will lose over Cabazon and in fact, go ahead and expose any docs that you have you believe are your kings and aces on your web site!? We’ll trump anything you’ve got!!!

And so far VMC, we haven’t seen a good hand from you yet!!!???

Desert Fae is not Columbo but she isn’t a Calif citizen either!?

Riconosciuto is lining up his ducks now, brilliant strategy is at work.

On his end, you’ll see why he’s called Magic Mike.

Before the 2008 New Year dawned it was obvious to this reporter that two men were behind the emergence of Desert Fae, AKA Rachel Begley. Yet this woman who targeted my credibility never contacted me by phone, email or mail to verify any of the disinformation she was generating about me and about the Alvarez executions.

It would not be until April 1, 2008 that I received an email from Riverside County Sheriff John Powers who told me that he had been assigned the 1981 Alvarez Execution case several months ago and he had reviewed thousands of documents and viewed Rachel Begley’s Desert Fae videos. He elaborated by saying, “I fell a bit like Alice in Wonderland after falling down the rabbit hole. I no longer have a complete grasp on the real world.” Powers credited Rachel Begley for introducing him to the rabbit hole and stated that he was having a difficult time shifting through the BS.

On July 1, 2010 Rachel Begley’s attorney Robin Sax introduced a motion in the case of James Hughes (Case No. INF066719) who was the sole defendant charged in the Alvarez murders. On page two of that motion Sax stated, “The triple homicide case had never been solved until Detective John Powers of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department took control of the cold case file on November 27, 2007.

This reporter first contacted the Alvarez cold case lead investigator John Powers by calling his cell phone as he requested in his initial email to me dated April 1, 2008. The following day he called me back and I re-sent all of the information I had emailed to Sgt. C. Ford to Detective Powers. This packet included all of the exchanges detailed above because I was concerned about the source of the information I was receiving concerning one DesertFae.

Just like many intelligent people before him the detective eagerly entered the world woven by “Magic Mike” Riconosciuto.

By Kevin Crosby

When average folk think of Disney, they envision cute animated and live-action films as well as the theme parks which have become modern-day meccas for the middle-class. For nearly a century, Disney has produced tantalizing eye candy to fulfill peoples’ deepest and in some cases darkest desires, and Disneyphiles have eaten it up in droves.

From “Steamboat Willie” to “Bambi” to Disney World to their “On Ice” tie-ins to all the “Herbie the Love Bug” sequels, Disney’s popularity has not only lifted them to the status of American icon, but a symbol recognized around the world. Even war-ravaged children in impoverished nations can be seen wearing so-called Disneyana.

What can be more enticing than the hypnotic “Yo Ho Ho” or “It’s a Small World” while floating along the picturesque attractions that have made Disney this planet’s most-frequented family vacation destination? The Mouse represents the ideal way of life, a fantasy world devoid of the hardships that the rat race has forced upon us. From the Plasticine facades of “Main Street, USA,” to the eager “cast members” immediately scooping up that wayward piece of trash, what can be more ideal than escaping to the “Happiest Place on Earth?”

To die-hard fans, Disney is the paramount of perfection. Anything to the contrary is blasphemous in the eyes of the Disneyphile. They stake their investments on those colorful stock certificates hung over the infant’s bed; on the abundance of clothes, toys, and accessories that burst forth from every nook and cranny; on their extensive video collections that line the shelves. To own even a small piece of the Mouse represents a life’s dream for many. And no one is going to tell them otherwise.

Walter Elias Disney

Generations of television viewers welcomed Uncle Walt into their homes every week to promote his theme park, teach about the animal world, and show America how a good Mouseketeer should have fun. Some Mice, past and present, rose to stardom including Annette Funicello, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Justin Timberlake. It was Britney who told us, “Honestly, I think we should just trust our president in every decision he makes and should just support that, you know, and be faithful in what happens.” She is quoted in Michael Moore’s “Farenheit 9/11” which Disney refused to release.

Behind the scenes, though, things weren’t as wonderful as the world of Disney would have us believe. Walt had a horribly abusive father. This shaped his life into what he would become: a stern business leader with obsessive habits. While demanding his employees adhere to strict work rules such as a stringent dress policy including no facial hair and absolutely zero cussing, Walt’s hypocrisy in this area is legendary. Apparently only he himself was allowed to sport a mustache. Walt even enforced a dress code for guests at his theme parks, mostly targeting beatniks and hippies.

The hypocrisy goes even deeper with Walt’s claim to fame of inventing Mickey Mouse. He had actually created Mortimer Mouse whose visage was based on Walt himself. It was upon the advice of his animator and business partner Ubbe Iwwerks — later changed to Ub Iwerks at Walt’s suggestion — and Walt’s wife Lillian that Mickey was born.

At Walt’s thirty-fifth birthday party in 1936, he fired two of his animators for producing an in-house short depicting Mickey consummating his relationship with Minnie. Walt’s strong-arm practices led staffers to begin referring to “Waltalitarianism,” “fearing a single misinterpreted word to anyone could result in immediate termination,” according to biographer Marc Eliot in Walt Disney: Hollywood’s Dark Prince.

In 1941, the Screen Cartoonists Guild struck Disney. Not only did Walt hire thugs to rough up strikers, but he was so convinced it was a Communist plot to take over the industry that he reported several of his employees to the Joseph McCarthy House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) witch hunt. Walt also became an informant for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Hollywood’s Dark Prince lets us know that under his attorney’s “tutelage, Disney discovered how the passions and power of political activism could be used as weapons for personal gain. And later on, for revenge.” Walt’s HUAC testimony and FBI file, released through the Freedom of Information Act, are available online.

Walt’s alleged patriotism also reared its head in his involvement with the “America First” movement to prevent the United States from entering World War Two. Disney animator Arthur Babbitt relates how Walt even attended American Nazi Party meetings. While historians theorize that this was his attempt to once again get Disney films shown in Europe,* Walt’s racism hasn’t escaped biographers who have described him equating Jews and Blacks with Communism. When the U.S. Military eventually invaded his studios, Disney had no choice but to create training films and propaganda for the war effort: there was no money elsewhere. Disney animators fighting overseas at the time were then reassigned back to America in order to produce the films.

In 1967, shortly after Walt’s death, Disney was granted permission from the Florida Legislature to experiment with nuclear fission. As Walt let us know in Heinz Haber’s The Walt Disney Story of Our Friend the Atom, “With our atomic projects we found ourselves deep in the field of nuclear physics. Of course, we don’t pretend to be scientists — we are story tellers. But we combine the tools of our trade with knowledge of experts. We even created a new Science Department at the studio to handle projects of this kind.”

Attractions

The pride and joy of Walt’s empire was Disneyland Park. On 17 July 1955, friends Robert Cummings, Art Linkletter, and Ronald Reagan provided commentary on ABC for the opening day logistical nightmare referred to as “Black Sunday” by Disney veterans, according to biographer Marc Eliot. Things eventually fell into place, and over the years additional Disney parks have sprung up not only in a second Orange County, but in Europe and Asia as well. Walt Disney World even became the backdrop for President Richard Nixon’s infamous “I’m not a crook” speech.

With the theme parks has come a price, in particular the inherent danger of the thrill rides. Stephen M. Fjellman references a 1985 Time Magazine article in his book Vinyl Leaves: Walt Disney World and America: “Although the corporation does not disclose the annual number of injuries to visitors,…between fifty and one hundred personal injury lawsuits are filed against Disney each year.”

According to online resource Theme Park Insider at www.themeparkinsider.com which provides a visitor-maintained database of park injuries, “official U.S. federal and state data on theme park accidents is almost nonexistent.” Large amusement parks are not subject to state oversight regarding ride safety.

In 2004, Disney was sued for wrongful death when it was discovered that mechanics had failed to tighten and wire lock bolts on a crucial “Big Thunder Mountain” guide wheel at Disneyland. Park inspectors had also signed off on work that hadn’t been done. The case was settled by confidential settlement.

In 2006, a 12-year-old’s heart stopped after riding the “Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster” at Walt Disney World. It took more than seven minutes from the 911 call for the park’s paramedics to arrive and defibrillate the boy. Disney doesn’t keep defibrillators at the individual rides, instead depending on their roving medical staff to arrive in time with one of the life-saving devices stored at various locations around the park. He was the ninth person to die at the park in three years.

Disneyphiles would try to convince people that injuries happen at all amusement parks — that it isn’t just Disney — and therefore shouldn’t be a major concern. But Disney apparently considers the deaths at EPCOT Center to be seriously problematic, leading them to retool part of their “Mission: Space” attraction in 2006.

Walt Disney Productions is a publicly owned conglomerate like so many other business giants, and they too seek to make money from their holdings using whatever means available. Under the more than twenty year reign of Michael Eisner, who eventually lost his position as Chairman in 2004, Disney earned the title of Business Week’s Worst Managed Board of Directors in 1997.

The video “Disney and the dark manipulation of the young mind” at YouTube.com reports Eisner stating in an internal memo:

We have no obligation to make history. We have no obligation to make art. We have no obligation to make a statement. To make money is our only objective.

In 1995, Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) member Eisner merged Disney with television’s ABC and shortly thereafter Disney joined the CFR as a corporate member. Founded in 1921 by global financier J.P. Morgan’s personal attorney “to control generally the policy of the daily press of the United States” as recorded in the Congressional Record by Representative Oscar Callaway in 1917, the CFR maintains today that their goal is to “increase America’s understanding of the world.” However, insiders paint a very different picture.

In 1950, CFR member James Warburg is quoted as stating to the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, “We shall have World Government, whether or not we like it. The question is only whether world government will be achieved by consent or by conquest.”

In the 1960′s, Georgetown University Professor Carroll Quigley, after reviewing the CFR’s secret library, wrote that the CFR’s aim is “to create a world system of financial control, in private hands, able to dominate the political system of each country, and the economy of the world as a whole.”

“CFR members include America’s wealthiest tycoons as well as the highly placed elite in government, academic institutions, tax-exempt foundations, and the establishment media,” as reported in “The CFR Controlled Media Cabal (Part 3)” at the YouTube.com video website and elsewhere.

[CFR]:Media Controlled and Manipulated by Corporate (3 of 3)

Disney has invested in its employees through so-called “dead peasants” life insurance. These tax exempt policies were in many cases taken out illegally without the “mark’s” knowledge. Working someone to death has apparently become highly profitable for the Rat. Disney was even found guilty in 2000 of coercing a dying employee out of more than one million dollars.

Disney subsidiaries include movie studios that have produced such controversial films as “Kids,” described as nihilistic child pornography by family advocates, and “Priest,” “such an alarming and sick movie that the gay newspaper The Advocate reported it under the heading ‘Family Alert Issues’” according to the www.anomalies-unlimited.com website. Disney even considered filming the movie “Ripe” about deflowering 14-year-old twins. Disney also hosts Viewer’s Choice “Hot Choice” pay-per-view soft porn on their cable channels according to the website.

Pornography has even been allowed to slip into their animated features. A photo of a topless woman appeared in “The Rescuers” home video. In “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” Jessica Rabbit doesn’t appear to be sporting underwear when she twirls. There’s also a questionable scene involving Baby Herman sulking under a woman’s petticoats. The original home video cover art for “The Little Mermaid” contained a phallus. And mysterious layering of voices in “Aladdin” says “Good teenagers, take off your clothes.”

Mischievous or otherwise disgruntled employees are usually to blame for these inclusions to the Disney experience. One example is the claim that letters in the clouds of “The Lion King” were allegedly inserted by special effects artists to spell out SFX, but they actually appear as SEX to the astute observer.

The movie’s hit song “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” became the subject of a lawsuit when heirs to the original artist, Solomon Linda, who died penniless in 1962, sued Disney for back royalties. The case was later settled out of court for an undisclosed sum.

It should also be noted that “The Lion King” was blatantly ripped off from “Kimba The White Lion” by Osamu Tezuka, the “Walt Disney of Japan,” after his death. The hit animated television series The Simpsons even spoofed the theft.

Disney attempts to bypass copyright laws by reproducing the works of deceased artists. As a slap in the face, Disney all but illegally bribed Congress to pass the Sonny Bono Copyright Term Extension Act. To protect its self interests, Disney sued at least one child care center to remove its caricatures from the walls and has threatened children’s websites with legal action for displaying Disney creations.

To Disney’s credit, the Mouse did finally agree to allow the British parents of a stillborn child to include an image of “Winnie the Pooh” and the words “bear of very little mind” on the headstone. The long-running legal battle over ownership of Pooh was decided in 2006 when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Stephen Slesinger’s heirs control the licensing of the product and not Pooh author A.A. Milne’s heir nor Disney. The Slesingers claim that Disney owes them at least $700 million in unpaid royalties.

Save Disney

Disney claims that “people are our most valued asset,” but Disney sweatshops are located in numerous countries reported the Immaculata High School’s Child Slave Labor project at their www.ihscslnews.org website. As www.anomalies-unlimited.com describes, “Disney was one of the most active members in UNICEF, an organization dedicated to the protection of children’s rights including protection from sexual exploitation and child labor, specifically.” But when in 1995 Federal Agents raided two sweatshops in Los Angeles, they discovered children as young as 12 making Disney apparel. In addition, the website also notes that “the National Labor Committee in New York, whose job it is to track the labor force hiring of U.S. Corporations, considers Disney one of ‘the worst offenders.’”

Even the Disney clothing line itself has come under scrutiny. Greenpeace began a campaign to attach warning labels to children’s wear containing unsafe levels of harmful chemicals including gender-bending phthalates. The products included Buzz Lightyear pajamas for boys; Piglet pajamas; Tigger pajamas with caption “100% Cheeky;” and Tigger pajamas with caption “Come on in little buddy. The water’s great!”

Other products to slip through the cracks included hollow chocolate balls containing plastic choking hazards and lead-lined jewelry. Mickey waffle irons and Winnie the Pooh Brand Complete Multi Vitamins also made the chopping block. Even entire children’s book sets and an Insane Clown Posse album have been recalled.

Disney will also cut costs by summarily terminating employees. The website www.duckau.com arose from the fallout of such firings. This online resource offers itself as an “outlet for ‘Tragic Kingdom’ cast members, current and former, to be able to read about and contribute stories and information about what travesties of justice go on behind the scenes, not just at the resorts, but within the corporate structure and studio as well.”

After his resignation in 2003, nephew Roy Disney Jr. formed his own protest www.savedisney.com website. With the promise of the complete departure of Michael Eisner in 2006, Roy dismantled his site and returned to the Mouse as director emeritus.

Despite being the subject of numerous alternative news articles and several books exposing their hypocrisy, most mainstream avenues of information regarding the Mouse have met any derogatory accusations with silence and/or contempt. Disney criticism hurts their bottom line so they choose to refuse the facts.

Predators

A personal web page at the University of Chicago once noted that “the Disney kiss, around which the entire plot often revolves, stands in for a sexual awakening that would render her prince guilty of statutory rape in a number of states.” Disney’s most egregious offense comes in the form of willfully employing convicted sex offenders.

Pedophile director Victor Salva was hired to film the motion picture “Powder,” the story of a pale, hairless teenaged boy whose teacher tells him that he has “never had better sex” since being touched by him. Disney executives insisted Salva had paid his debt to society according to Peter and Rochelle Schweizer in their 1998 book Disney: The Mouse Betrayed; Greed, Corruption and Children at Risk. The book “was considered highly controversial and resulted in the murder of the author,” notes Cathy O’Brien with Mark Phillips in their 2004 book Access Denied: For Reasons of National Security.

In 1999, former Disney Go Network executive and co-developer of the Java programming language Patrick Naughton was arrested in a sting operation for intent to engage in sex with a minor. In exchange for Naughton’s assistance in developing software to catch sexual predators, he received a $20,000 fine and sentence of nine months house arrest.

The ebook by Roxine Cherie’ Evans Enchanted by the Beast: Part One at www.enchantedbythebeast.com describes how her son was kidnapped for years by a Disney executive. The victim’s account “includes all the people, who are deeply involved, who, in 1987 to 2006 simply refused to do one single thing, to rescue my child from the kidnapper and refused to punish him for the heinous crime of kidnap. Their excuse was always the same. ‘Listen lady, a Walt Disney Executive would never harm a child, let alone, kidnap one, you’re insane!’”

The Schweizer’s research found that “even repeat sex-crime offenders with criminal records have operated at Disney for years, apparently with the company’s knowledge.” They also report that “Harry Parsell, a former Disney security manager who spent twenty-one years with the company found ‘holes in the ceiling of women’s [guest] bathrooms.’ [Disney Security Officer James Hertogs] was unconcerned. ‘Boys will be boys,’ he said. ‘This has been going on at Disney for twenty years.’”

“Voyeurism is a very serious crime,” asserts Bill Kelly, an FBI veteran who dealt with sex crimes, notes The Mouse Betrayed. “It can often escalate to more sex offenses.” According to Professor Jack Enter, “Seventy percent of rapists are voyeurs.”

An interview with the Schweizers to appear on Disney-owned ABC’s “20/20″ was cancelled. Coinciding with the release of their book, the Mouse, after so many years, finally decided to start performing criminal background checks on new hires.

Enter, a criminology expert at North Georgia College, as related in The Mouse Betrayed, notes, “Disney World is the greatest attraction in the world for children and pedophiles.” A now-defunct web page told how “Disney sent no employees to a free program, run by Orlando police, to educate local security guards in how to spot pedophiles at theme parks,” and that when a molestation would occur, Disney was “uncooperative with local police during investigations by not releasing information on the crime.” The Schweizers also note that “the law does not require Disney to report crimes to the Sheriff’s Office.”

Mind Control

Disney animated films foster a blinding “Cinderella” style of thinking. We long to believe that a soul mate will appear in our hour of need. Of course “Prince Charming” will kiss us out of our incapacitation. If our heart is in the right place, nothing can stop us. Disney instills the belief that all our hopes and dreams will come true.

In Disney’s world most everything is carefree and all tragedy ends happily. People leave the theater feeling refreshed about the harsh realities of the world, instilled with new hope that things will always work out despite insurmountable odds. But there can be consequences to their light-hearted features.

Performing tricks that often defy belief, Disney’s behaviorally conditioned pets highlighted in their live-action films have led to the popularity and mass demand for specific breeds. Puppy mills must have been expected after the release of Disney’s “101 Dalmatians,” especially when their animated “Mulan” led countless young girls to butcher their own hair. Even Disney’s educational productions have had bad side effects when, for example, in 1958 they fooled the world into believing lemmings commit mass suicide by running off cliffs.

But the Skinner-styled “shaping” of animals to hand gesture commands isn’t restricted to lesser beasts. Theme park cast members are “brainwashed at the Mouse House” as it’s been referred to by graduates of Disney University “attitudinizing.” It makes good business sense to have employees who won’t greet guests with anything less than a smile and well-rehearsed “spontaneous” comment, but the so-called brainwashing apparently goes deeper than public corporate policy.

The Rat stands accused of being a key player in the New World Order, or Illuminati Conspiracy as it is also known. Fritz Springmeier and Cisco Wheeler, who have written extensively on the subject, try to warn us in Deeper Insights into the Illuminati Formula available online that “Disney is one of the best deceptions of the Illuminati…. Under the disguise of entertaining the world, they carried out money laundering, child slavery laundering, and mind-control.” Illuminati insiders nicknamed Disneyland “the little syndicate of mind-control.”

Former Disney employees have reported other Mice using coded names and unusual hand gestures. Texe Mars, author of several books on the Illuminati, states in an interview in the Fall 2006 issue of Paranoia Magazine that the Illuminati practice “symbology, signs, handshakes, coded language, ritual magic, worship, [and] adoration of idols.”

The Illuminati use the Monarch style of behavioral conditioning or “programming” developed by the Nazis and refined by the American Central Intelligence Agency’s Mind Kontrol Ultra Program utilizing scientists imported from Germany immediately after the war under Project Paperclip. MK-ULTRA was investigated during 1977 Senate Hearings that despite uncovering evidence of brainwashing children, only confessed to unethical radiation exposure.

Disney’s “Hitler’s Children: Education for Death; The Making of the Nazi”

Decades later, President Bill Clinton would make a public apology for the “thousands of government-sponsored experiments [that] did take place at hospitals, universities, and military bases around our nation.… Some were unethical, not only by today’s standards, but by the standards of the time in which they were conducted.”

Clinton apology

“The basic component of the Monarch Program is the sophisticated manipulation of the child’s mind to protect itself from extreme trauma by creating Multiple Personality Disorder,” explains the www.mindcontrolforums.com website. “Another basic component of the Monarch program is lots of electro shock.” The victims of organized abuse are drugged, hypnotized, and traumatized details former Illuminati programmer Svali in “Breaking the Chain: Breaking free of cult programming” available online.

Hypnosis expert Dr. George H. Estabrooks “proposed, over and over, that superspies with one-way amnesia should be created by deliberate personality splitting. An absolutely dependable, unbreakable amnesia for all events under hypnosis is the most essential single element to create an unknowing, authority-controlled hypnotic subject. A split personality is a very hard form of amnesia to overcome,” notes Carla Emery in Secret, Don’t Tell: The Encyclopedia of Hypnotism. “If we care to translate that into the field of crime, we can see the ease with which we could prepare a watertight alibi,” writes Estabrooks in his 1943 book Hypnotism.

Estabrooks, speaking as the chairman of the Department of Psychology at Colgate University, wanted the world to know that he “‘can hypnotize a man without his knowledge or consent into committing treason against the United States,’” relates Jerry E. Smith in HAARP: The Ultimate Weapon of the Conspiracy. “At the time he made that statement Dr. Estabrooks was one of this nation’s most authoritative voices in the field of hypnotism,” continues HAARP.

Studies show the teen criminals of tomorrow are “literally being manufactured, programmed, hardwired to behave in a certain way,” according to Lori Montgomery in “Young lawbreakers likely to become older criminals” for Knight-Ridder/Tribune News Service in 1995. Television programs such as “Nanny 911″ have shown what simple neglect can do to children before a week’s worth of Mind Control turns the tiny terrors into little angels. The children on these shows were destined for a pharmacological lobotomy from Ritalin come school age.

Sexual Abuse

Research into cases of severe child trauma has shown that victims may develop multiple personalities, or Dissociative Identity Disorder. Diagnostic imaging shows these identities to reside in separate regions of the brain. A sexually abused child may also develop Borderline Personality Disorder.

The eminent psychiatrist Sigmund Freud called the symptoms of abuse “hysteria,” but he recanted his accusations of widespread child rape after presenting his findings to an unreceptive audience of peers. Modern research has found that more than 25% of U.S. children are sexually abused and that fewer than 10% of cases are reported to authorities.

Many children will even forget the abuse until years later when it’s too late to press charges. The False Memory Syndrome Foundation, despite attempting to discredit accounts of recovered memories in courts of law, was kind enough to include in their own newsletter that “studies report that the average age of remembering childhood incest is between 29 and 49.”

Everyone from schoolteachers to clergy to the Homeland Security press aide to Congressman Mark Foley has been accused of pedophilia (see also ephebophilia). But as the FBI had for decades denied the existence of organized crime — i.e. the Mafia — today they deny organized child abuse — i.e. ritual abuse. In March 2006, the FBI finally complied with a 1990 Act of Congress demanding a public accounting of missing children.

Former U.S. Senator John DeCamp “exposes the elite web of crime, satanic cults, and child sexual abuse that reaches through the highest levels of power in our society” in his 1992 book The Franklin Cover-Up: Child Abuse, Satanism, and Murder in Nebraska writes an Amazon.com reviewer. The charges brought by DeCamp implicate the Ronald Reagan/George H.W. Bush White House. The reviewer goes on to note that “it’s interesting that former CIA director Bill Colby ambiguously acknowledged to the author that the scenario described is real, and not long thereafter Colby turned up dead under suspicious circumstances” after disappearing late April 1996. A documentary was filmed entitled “Conspiracy of Silence,” but before it was to air on Disney’s Discovery Channel in 1994, unknown members of Congress bought the rights and ordered all copies be destroyed. A lone tape survived and is now widely available online.

Conspiracy of Silence

The Catholic Church has known about pedophiles in its midst for 1700 years assert former monks Richard Sipe and Patrick Wall in their 2004 375-page report, “Canonical History of Clerical Sexual Abuse.” After the abuse scandal that began in 2001 exposed Cardinal Bernard F. Law protecting pedophiles in the Boston diocese, Pope John Paul II reassigned him to a cushy job in the Vatican, where the age of consent is 12. John Paul’s successor, Pope Benedict XVI, even went so far as to issue an order to keep all church investigations into child sexual abuse a secret before he became pontiff in 2005.

Sipe estimates that six percent of Catholic priests have sexually abused children, a statistic mirrored in a 1993 National Catholic Weekly: America report estimating that “approximately 3,000 priests, or one in 15 nationwide, are probably guilty of [sexual] misconduct.” Thomas Fox, writing in the National Catholic Reporter, estimates that the average pedophile priest molests 285 victims. The 2002 Zogby International/Le Moyne Contemporary Catholic Trends Poll Report found that one in 11 American Catholics say they have “personal knowledge” of child sexual abuse by a priest.

Elder Glenn L. Pace, Second Counselor in the Presiding Bishopric of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, interviewed 60 people who had been ritually abused by church leaders, temple workers and members of the Tabernacle Choir, according to his 1990 memo on “Ritualistic Child Abuse” to the Strengthening Church Members Committee of the Mormon Church. Pace notes that “ritualistic child abuse is the most hideous of all child abuse. The basic objective is premeditated — to systematically and methodically torture and terrorize children until they are forced to dissociate.” He doesn’t “pretend to know how prevalent the problem is,…can only assume that it is expanding geometrically and [is] horrified the numbers represented by the generation who are now children and teenagers.” Photocopies of his exposé circulated like wildfire.

“The treatment of mind controlled kids is a growing field, despite the call for public denial from the corporate press. Cult abuse of children, [Catherine Gould] wrote in The Journal of Psychohistory in the spring of 1995, ‘is considerable in scope and extremely grave in its consequences. Among 2,709 members of the American Psychological Association who responded to a poll, 2,292 cases of ritual abuse were reported. In 1992 alone, Childhelp USA logged 1,741 calls pertaining to ritual abuse, Monarch Resources of Los Angeles logged 5,000, Real Active Survivors tallied nearly 3,600, Justus Unlimited of Colorado received almost 7,000, and Looking Up Maine handled around 6,000,’” reports Alex Constantine’s preview to the 1995 The Constantine Report at the www.mindcontrolforums.com website.

Janet Reno

The website www.rotten.com reports that in 1980, Jesse Jackson commented on Janet Reno, “There is a growing consensus that her office is a source of humiliation to black people, and she has become a symbol of oppression to all of us.” That same year the publisher of the Miami Times Garth Reeves is quoted with, “Reno is to the black community what Hitler was to the Jews.”

President Bill Clinton promised “that aggressive enforcement of federal obscenity laws by the Justice Department — particularly by the Child Exploitation and Obscenity section — will be a priority in a Clinton-Gore administration,” according to William E. Brigman in his 1997 “Politics and the Pornography Wars” for the Ohio University School of Film. Despite Clinton’s rhetoric and that of Attorney General Janet Reno’s promise to “protect our children from abuse,” the Justice Department attempted to legalize soft-core child pornography in 1993. It should be noted that in November of that year, Clinton became the first standing Commander in Chief to have an Animatronic debuted in Disney’s “Hall of Presidents.”

A legal update of Knox v. The United States from Colonel Ronald D. Ray reads: “The Justice Department position, if adopted, would relax the higher standards of the Child Protection Act of 1984 and make it significantly more difficult for prosecutors to obtain convictions of child pornographers. The Reno Justice Department asked the Supreme Court to reinterpret the federal child pornography statute in a way that will result in legalizing a substantial amount of child pornography, encouraging further criminal child exploitation.”

“It’s simply not the kind of hard-core child pornography at the center of the industry,” said a senior official in the Justice Department who spoke on condition of anonymity, according to The New York Times. A 1997 Syracuse University report noted an 86% decrease in obscenity prosecutions under Reno.

Before Janet Reno became U.S. Attorney General, she was Dade County Florida State Attorney. The American Family Association Journal quotes FBI Agent William P. Kelly as stating, Reno “was never interested in taking on and prosecuting illegal obscenity.” It also quotes City of Miami Police Department’s Michael Berish as noting, “the majority of obscenity cases involved organized crime figures that were responsible for the interstate distribution of this material.”

Reno developed the “Miami Method” of aggressively handling child sexual abuse cases. In his article “Beat the Devil: Janet Reno’s Coerced Confession” for The Nation, Alexander Cockburn describes the use of isolation, quasi-hypnosis, conditioned response, and kindred mind-bending techniques used to ensure damning testimony. Predictably, many of the convictions were overturned in appeals.

As Clinton’s top cop, Reno could apparently do no wrong. Despite her office’s refusal to prosecute child pornographers and other serious crimes, the Waco massacre in which more than twenty children died, and the Elian Gonzolez child’s extradition back to Communist Cuba, mainstream media praised Janet Reno as Clinton’s star cabinet member.

Conclusion

There are noticeable symptoms to “Disneyitis” — sufferers have an unwavering devotion to all things Disney, they disbelieve anything anti-Disney, and of course may have an obsession with Disneyana. In their eyes, anyone who thinks differently is mentally ill. In many cases they will resort to foul, insulting language when dealing with those that don’t share their passion. Hardcore Disneyphiles abound. Many are full blown Disney Nazis in the eyes of detractors.

This army of Mice is dedicated to the motto “Ignorance is Bliss.” Or at least they are unwavering in their devotion. They refuse to peek under the rug to see the Rat’s dirt. The Disney drug is so habituating, the average person doesn’t even realize he or she is hooked. And if they do, they don’t care.

Most American folk elect to remain completely uninformed of the atrocities carried out by their government and its minions. Mention of any “conspiracy” immediately elicits utter denial and dismay. That the loveable Mouse could be a part of some dark secret to infect the world population with its poisonous agenda is so far outside normal thinking it is too unfathomable for denizens to contemplate. No one could be more evil than Hitler, especially not Disney.

Frank Rich ponders in a 1998 The New York Times article: “Who is more powerful — Disney or God? It’s a tough call.” “If anything is more irresistible than Jesus, it’s Mickey” observes Carl Hiaasen in Team Rodent: How Disney Devours the World.

Whether society demands a closer inspection of the actions carried out by the Mouse House is up to the mainstream news organizations’ coverage of that business behind Tinkerbell and her infamous pixie dust. In the meantime, such a poisoned apple should not be allowed to escape our notice.

“We cannot expect the [powers that be] to control their own criminality. The forces that lead to their criminality are far too powerful. What is necessary is that citizen groups form that will constantly watch over [these] agencies,” stresses renowned criminologist William J. Chambliss in On the Take: From Petty Crooks to Presidents.

* In February 2008, the director of a Norwegian war museum, William Hakvaag, claimed to have discovered Disney characters sketched by Adolf Hitler during World War Two. Hakvaag said “he found the drawings hidden in a painting signed ‘A. Hitler’ that he bought at an auction in Germany,” according to Britain’s telegraph.co.uk news site. “Hitler is known to have owned a copy of Snow White, the classic animated adaptation of a German fairy tale, and to have viewed it in his private cinema.”

By Clyde Lewis

National intelligence agencies are now the authority in this country and it seems that they are the ones who approve what is truth. What falls through the cracks is the ooze and paranoid conspiracy theory that we are told to avoid because it is just not American to be a paranoid collector of the muck that is left behind from the deceit that we have been given for nearly 60 years.
We see bribing and blackmailing, sex scandals and character assassinations on a daily basis. One minute we are enamored with darlings of the media and then vultures gather to eat the carrion left behind when that darling becomes public enemy number 1.

Nothing ever stays clean in a world of mistrust. Our hyperawareness can’t handle a perfect world. Was it ever a perfect world? Was there ever a time where you could trust the motives of anything or anyone? We are in a time of programmed helplessness. Sure the world is bad, everything is bad, but what can we do? Everyone is out to get us, and we are told that we are targets because we are free. The big lie is when we are vexed by increased worries you are not free. You are not happy, and the big lie we tell ourselves is that something will intervene. Some externalized hope that we will be delivered from the dread. In the 50’s we were told to “duck and cover” Today we are told to ‘give up” or you are either with the majority or you are alone. When you are alone with your thoughts you succumb to paranoia that lurks in the shadows,

There seems to be an onset of paranoia in the United States that permeates in a manner that is far more active than in times of the Cold war. In that era we were aware of the Soviet threat. We could name the so called enemy and we could hide in our shelters with guns and ammo waiting to dive into our stored wheat that we would grind into bread. The world worried that nukes would be used to show whose boss. Even though there was deep rooted paranoia with the cold war there is nothing that is far more dreadful than the paranoia in the post 9-11 haze.

We are pumped full of propaganda that tells us that there are people out there waiting to kill us. We are told of terrorists that are out to blow up trains and there is no mass protest when our president signs a patriot act that negates your constitutional rights. It is okay that our president uses an electronic remote control pen from France to set in stone more laws that revoke personal freedoms.
When are not focused on politics, our mind can wander into the paranoid darkness of Armageddon on the horizon, alien invasion, and the human reptilian take over by the power elite.

It may sound crazy, but if it is, it is lunacy en masse, we are not alone in our paranoia and there has to be a logical explanation for all of it. There is either a mass psychosis or it really is happening and we have every reason to think that there is something lurking out there ready to pounce. There are many people who conclude that paranoia is a result of losing faith, or dwindling in faith in religion, politics and human honesty.

All of the above seem to be damaged today and so the deep question is can paranoia really be paranoia if you know that human honesty no longer exists in places where you used to count on accountability? The so called “experts” tell us that paranoia is a gateway to a schizophrenic fantasy. However we as a nation have suffered so many traumas, it should be normal for an average American to have some sort of paranoia running around in his or her head.

We have had a virtual cloud of paranoia that has settled over the United States since World War II. It seems to have grown larger since that time. There has been too much secrecy and deceit that has left a indelible mark on the psyche of the country. We must continually tell ourselves that things will improve and then we secretly speak to our own consciousness that there is a devil responsible for all of our troubles. We say to ourselves that it could be the Jews, or Immigrants, or gay people. We can do all sorts of things that give us the false sense of security that the vampires will be kept at bay.

Military experiments with mind control have given us well known monsters who have maimed and killed and some of them still are among us ready to strike at any time. We also look up in the sky and what we see are not just planes and birds, we see strange aircraft maneuvering and crashing in desert locales. We wonder what the military is doing in our back yard, and why military planes and black helicopters are scoping out an area where the media told us a meteorite fell.

We are told the John F. Kennedy was killed with a magic bullet. There have been years of media cover-ups and political secrets piling high which creates a bit of political schizoid bias where we are forced into believing the unbelievable. It can be said that perhaps those who believe the official story of what happened in Dallas in 1963 is minimal and equally, those who now believe that the moon landing was a fraud are growing now that we are over 40 years from the alleged heroic moon landing and the manned space program no longer exists.

Truth has become such a casualty in the cause for “freedom” – that it is accepted by most Americans as a fact of life, part of the struggle, and a paranoid alternative to the :”civic religion.” The devils are in control and the secret has to be that the United States is the biggest conspiracy of all. Is that sounding paranoid? I can’t help myself; I know they are out to get us!

E: You say in your book Unshackled: A Survivor’s Story of Mind Control (Tempe AZ: Dandelion Books, 2003): “Because many of these slaves’ bonds and chains are mental, they are invisible and difficult to prove in a court of law.” What do you think will have to happen in the courts in order to catch up with the criminal technology of mind control?

K: I read that in France they made mind control illegal. That would be a very nice start here.

E: And they have the means to enforce it?

K: Yes. What I keep thinking about is how are we going to prove that someone’s in control? Now, you can prove a person has multiple personality disorder or DID because you can show — I believe it’s with an MRI — when the different parts of the brain are active, you can show that their personality is fragmented. But how do you prove that another person is pushing the button? So we’ve got a long, long ways to go on that one.

E: Actually, there’s an article in the Fall/Winter 2003 mkzine by Cheryl Welsh about literally how hopeless it looks in jurisprudence. I cannot imagine how justice for present mind control victims can be obtained under the present system.

K: If you look at a situation where the person is living with the controller and witnesses can testify who have watched the controller manipulate the victim, break them down or whatever…

E: In one of your moving journaled childhood memories you say,

“Pain, isolation, deprivation. Torture, training, total isolation. In a dark, not black, soundless box made of metal. Dad poured his pain into me [via electrical torture]. I became the repository for his pain. Pain kills. I was alone in that box, no one to talk to, no one who cared. NO ONE. He was master of horrors. He cut the kitten open alive starting with its sweet tender stomach. It trusted him. It trusted him and he killed it. He said he was teaching me not to care. Then he put me in the box too small to stand in. I had to sit in it. One side open.
“I saw the lab. I saw my father. The box was my only respite. And he let me decide when to come out again. He kept busy and patiently waited until I decided to come out again — to HIM. He forced me to choose to come to him, to be with him, no matter what pain he gave me. I became Frankenstein’s lab assistant. His creation. Cold. Uncaring. Wooden. You are what is done to you. Do unto others what was done unto you; give out as has been given unto you. These were Satan’s laws and he was Satan in the flesh. Satan is human pain-giving. Hate hate hate let the whole world hate. Kill kill kill let the whole world kill… all should have to feel as I feel and yet it is never enough. Never enough. I’m always back in the box. With the knowing and the pain.”

E: That’s quite a beautiful piece of writing.

K: [Softly] A child part wrote that.

E: Why do some who have these terrible things done to them not become what was done unto them?

K: This is a touchy subject for some survivors. I think that it’s impossible not to at least on the inside become a perpetrator to some degree. I think the question is whether we act out what’s on the inside. I talked to the head of ISSD (International Society for the Study of Dissociation) — excuse me, we wrote back and forth — and he had done an article about when therapists are working with dissociated survivors how they must understand that there are going to be parts of those survivors who are perpetrator parts. Now, that does not mean they act out what’s in those parts. In my situation, I did because my father and the others deliberately created these parts to compartmentalize those feelings and thoughts, to pull out later and use later to hurt other people. I might have done it anyway if they had not been compartmentalized. I don’t know. It’s almost because they kept them separated from the rest of me and kept them controlled, I had the luxury of saying I didn’t do it out of my free will, but had they not done that, I might have been a perpetrator, I don’t know. I know that there is another point: people like my father chose to hurt people. He had a choice. He could have somehow gotten help, but he chose to do it. He chose to put out what, I believe, had been done to him, and there are a lot of people who simply choose not to, and sometimes they pay a great price for it, whether it’s self-harm or whatever. It’s very difficult holding it in.

E: When you say “He chose,” is there an age at which he chose, or are you saying it was a consistent choice on his part? It seems to me the father you describe in the book is a man who enjoys the pain he gives out. Where did he cross over into being like that?

K: (Laughs) Let’s just say I knew a male who had a very strong influence on my dad’s life who was also a sadist. I believe that Dad was physically abused as a child, and there are pieces of information I’ve gotten from other relatives about things they know were done to my father that were really brutal. Where Dad turned and started inflicting it on others, I really don’t know. I’ve talked with therapists who have worked with people like my dad and they say usually by the time they’re an older child, they’re starting.

E: Twelve, thirteen?

K: Even younger.

E: In your opinion, does it have anything to do with being male or female and the different sorts of training that go into the two?

K: I think males in general tend more to inflict outwards and females tend more to take it on themselves, especially with self-mutilation, that’s the big one but anorexia and bulemia, too, or going into one bad relationship after another, you know — perpetrators who are the husbands or partners or whatever. In my case, I by choice did that. I picked partners who were harmful to me, but then again the perpetrators who were doing mind control used the parts that they had compartmentalized in order to do it to others. I had both inside of me. Again, had I not been controlled, I might have just kept turning it in on myself, although I was abusive to my daughter and that’s a very sad thing.

E: And you do talk about that in your book. It is sad. You can’t get out of this unscathed.

K: No.

E: I too feel that there is a choice at some point that even an individual under severe torture still has a choice [to become a perpetrator or not] to some point, but beyond that point they may not.

K: Right. There is a point where anyone can be broken, and I learned that the hard way.

E: The scene of your Baby Rose’s murder is, for me, one of the two most moving scenes in the book. (The other is your witnessing your father’s death.) Everything that is decent and human in me cries out, How can this practice of child sacrifice even occur? And what is gained by doing such a horrible act to an innocent? You say in the book, “I believe Dad tried to murder my goodness that day, to make me like him.” Is that why this horrible crime continues even today? To utterly destroy the good in human beings?

K: [Softly] Yes. I believe that people like my dad have tremendous self-hatred but can’t recognize it, and so they have to put that hatred on the next generation of victims. I think they hate themselves for having been victimized — for whatever reasons, they took on the hatred that their perpetrators put on them. They took it inside. They don’t want to own it so they have to put it on the next set of children, the next set of victims — either that, or I think they would self-destruct because the hatred is so tremendously destructive and painful.

E: So to enact the sacrifice of a baby in front of children being conditioned is probably the most heinous thing that I can imagine.

K: Oh yeah, because it’s controlled and yet it’s also a reenactment. To me, that’s the most bizarre thing of the whole thing. They’re not only gratifying their own selves and keeping themselves dissociated from their own self-hatred, but they’re also traumatizing children for the express purpose of dissociating them and preparing them for future use. It’s insane, it’s total insanity to me.

E: You’ve probably heard the Joan Baez song “Play Me Backwards” –

K: I’ve read a few lyrics but I haven’t really heard the whole thing.

E: — because she refers to Baby Rose in her song as well.

K: Oh, my gosh. Rose wasn’t my baby daughter’s legal name because I transferred the same name to the daughter that Dad gave me afterward and I want to protect her identity. But Rose is a name that was often used in cult rituals. There’s a singer who came out with a song about five years ago about a kiss from the rose on the grave or something like that — every time I heard that song, I think my God, that’s straight occult. [Laughs] I go into trance every time I hear it. I realized in a way that roses are a beautiful thing to me because good ones have a gorgeous smell, and my baby’s breath smelled like a flower, and so that’s why I called her Rose.

E: You also describe how your hatred of your father for killing Baby Rose fueled your “Nikita” assassin alter that worked for the federal government. Do you suppose a similar form of abuse is used to traumatize men in Special Forces?

K: I’m convinced of it. I have talked to enough of them now, the traumas that they are put through even during their training to break them down are severe. They’re bullied unbelievably, sleep-deprived, everything possible is done to them. They’re pushed to the point beyond pain. That anger’s got to go somewhere. My husband was pretty much conditioned the same way, so I know from his own experiences, yes.

E: So I wonder how far their training goes. The bullying and pain — do you think they’re dissociated as well by trauma?

K: Absolutely. The other thing, too is that for a long time — I don’t know how common it is now — it seemed like they were choosing men who were already dissociated in childhood.

E: By means of that battery of tests that new recruits take?

K: Exactly. Of course, then they can create alter states in those men that are easily controllable, based on their already having been dissociated. That was my husband’s experience.

E: When you talk about the alter named Dark that internalized your father’s murderous personality, you talk about rage. What is the difference between an alter created out of rage and how altered people become by their own rage?

K: [Laughs] Well, I can’t say that alter was created by rage but again what they did was they created an alter state and then it’s almost like they poured my rage into that part. I’m not quite sure I can explain how they did it. But they tortured me severely — I mean, there’s torture and then there’s major torture. When they used electricity and kept breaking me to where I had no will left and almost had no mind left, that’s when they would create a part like that. Anytime a child or adult is tortured like that, it immediately creates tremendous rage, a rage that can’t go anywhere because they’re a total victim at that time. So it goes down inside like a volcano waiting to erupt. They know that and so they’ll pull out that alter state later and sic it on whoever. The rage is just incredible.
So when [an unprogrammed person] is in an altered state because they’re rageful, I don’t think there’s too much difference.

E: Certainly people become “altered” by rage.

K: It’s a totally different part of their personality.

E: You say that your ops-trained alter-states were created through extreme torture and then that “Because they were blank slate alter-states, they didn’t have my morals.” What does a blank slate alter mean, and how does it differ from other alters?

K: My dad and some of the other people taught — I can’t remember the name of that psychiatrist who had the ducks walking after him and imprinting on him — Lorenz?

E: Could be. I just remember Jolly West and the elephants.

K: [Laughs] What [Konrad Lorenz] discovered was that when the ducks were first hatched, he was the first thing they saw and so they imprinted his personality and actions. What my dad and the men working with him figured out was if they could break a child down through severe torture — and usually for me it was electrical — to the point where the child completely went amnesiac, what would happen next is that the part of the mind that would come out would have no memory other than the most basic things like breathing, possibly knowing how to use utensils to eat — in fact, that’s why ECT [electroconvulsive therapy] is sometimes so effective, it does the same thing basically.

E: Just wipes the slate clean?

K: Exactly. Then that part of the mind that becomes conscious and has just the very basic abilities — maybe in the brain stem — that part is going to imprint on what that part first sees, and for me a lot of times it was the men in the laboratory and they were all sociopaths, so my blank slate alter states became sociopaths like them. Very effective.

E: And that was used for your special ops kind of training?

K: Exactly.

E: When talking about your handlers, you mention that they always did a full body search to make sure that your op alters hadn’t hidden any clues or secret messages for you to find back home. What does this say about alters? Are they always trying to get better, too, despite their programming?

K: First, I need to clarify ops versus black ops. There were parts of me that did other things besides killing and really dastardly stuff, and these were the parts that would try to leave a message for me. Those were the parts that because they were not blank slate alter states, they had some awareness of my life. They might not remember where I had lived but they had a sense of who and what I was as a person, as far as my morality and what was important to me and what was not. They had some of me in them, too, a sense of goodness. So those parts knew I existed and knew that I was the one that could make the decisions that might change things, and so they would leave the messages for me. Does that make sense?

E: Yes, and it’s kind of strange, isn’t it, that all these different parts of the self are in there, and that even the ones that have dissociated and haven’t been present for a lot of other things still want to get better. That’s really remarkable.

K: And a lot of them didn’t like what they were being used to do. They wanted out but didn’t have any way out, except to tell me.

E: And when you say ‘me,’ you mean –

K: As the host alter state, the part that was usually conscious.

E: Is that what some call the executive function?

K: I’ve never heard that one before.

E: The executive function is the one that can ‘Hi, how are you?’ at the grocery store and no one would guess. So that’s the one, the host alter.

K: Uh-huh.

E: In 1989, your father was finally indicted on child molestation, after which he slit his wrists. You said that after he got out of the hospital, he went to a conference at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and then home to spend several days with his childhood family. Do you feel that these two journeys represented a “tune up” or reprogramming effort on someone’s part of your dad?

K: I wish I knew. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall during that time. I have talked to quite a few mind-control survivors who’ve said that when they were to be reprogrammed they were taken either to Disney World or Disneyland. I’m not necessarily saying it happened within the park, but there was some kind of activity going on in those areas. It may be partly because when you go to a place like that, if you’re dissociative, the child parts are going to come out. [Laughs] You are most vulnerable if you’re dissociative when you go to a place like that. It would have been very easy for someone to have gotten hold of my dad, especially as he went there as part of his work. So other people that he was connected to at work knew he was there, and they had been there also. There’s no telling. As far as going to Pennsylvania to visit his family, his parents were dead but there were several male relatives from his age group who are also full-fledged perpetrators who could have done something. I really don’t know.

E: Would you say that all sociopaths like your father are raised by means of ritualized pain and fear?

K: Define what you mean by ritualized.

E: Not necessarily satanic but something that is rhythmic, such as every birthday, every saint’s day, every Christmas, etc.

K: I don’t think so. The reason I’m saying that is again I’ve talked with one therapist in particular who works with sociopaths. She said what really will do it to them is they have a parent that they’re very dependent on who at times will be doting and caring, then will turn around and be cold and put a distance between themselves and the child. It’s the back-and-forth that’s crazy-making, and the instability is the basis for the child becoming a sociopath if that parent is really, really abusive. I was really shocked to learn that. Maybe one reason I didn’t become a sociopath was because neither one of my parents was ever caring toward me. That may have saved me.

E: So you’re saying that with sociopaths it would be that crazy-making back-and-forth, but not necessarily pain and torture.

K: Yes, but there would definitely be abuse involved.

E: Physical abuse?

K: I would say so, yes, and certainly mental.

E: Do you think men tend to become sociopaths more than women?

K: Yes, I do.

E: And that’s because, as you said before, men are more extrovertive, more externalizing?

K: Right, although I have met female sociopaths, and that concerns me that people are not aware that females can also become this way. It frightens me because they get away with it because people don’t know to look for it.

E: After Operation Paperclip, do you feel that the Nazis have continued their Third Reich here in America?

K: Absolutely.

E: And how have they been able to pull that off?

K: Well, by making buddies with the right people to start off with. It reminds me of World War Two when the OSS recruited mafia figures in Italy and several other countries who then came to the US afterwards and set up shop by developing their own operations, then the FBI covered for them for God knows how long and still does. People finally became aware of the reality of the mafia, even though for a while the FBI kept saying it didn’t exist. But the biggest secret behind that is that the Nazis have also been active in our country since at least World War Two.

E: I understand they’ve gone corporate now.

K: Yeah, and they scare the heck out of me. Most of the men who came over through Paperclip are dead, but they have recruited young people who for whatever reason are very strongly into being Aryans. I won’t say who, but there is a female teenager in Atlanta who was going to meetings with other young teenagers who were Aryan skinheads, and there was a man coming over once a week from Germany to teach them the Nazi ways. So even that’s still going on. But my concern is that a lot of the Nazis that my dad was associated with had infiltrated NASA and the CIA and were making major changes for their own benefit.

E: There are several good books out now on Paperclip –

K: Linda Hunt’s is the best.

E: Reinhard Gehlen, SS Nazi in charge of the Eastern Front, was invited by Allen Dulles to convert the OSS into the CIA –

K: I didn’t know that!

E: — and knowing what I know about their recruitment efforts, I tend to think of them as primarily a Nazi organization.

K: I do, too.

E: Why is it so wonderful and lucrative for the CIA, Nazis, mafia, etc. to pursue mind control?

K: I think it’s a joke when people say that the mafia protects their families. Oh no they don’t! The children are usually the first victims when it comes to mind control, and part of it is the children will keep the family secret. What they don’t remember, they can’t tell. Also, I think because some of these individuals, mostly men but again some women, are just real into control. They are addicted to controlling others. I think the biggest excitement they can ever get in their personal lives is to have a slave. It’s also a status symbol among a lot of them, especially in the US where slavery is illegal. If they’re sociopaths, they get a thrill out of that because they’re doing what’s illegal and getting away with it. Then there’s the fact that they’re able to use us to do illegal activities for them and if we get caught, we do the time and they get away free to use other slaves and continue their illegal activity. It’s like the perfect crime because there’s nothing physical that can connect us back to them. I believe that’s what happened with [Timothy] McVeigh, by the way.

E: In what way?

K: Considering the fact that he was in what was called Elohim, the neo-nazi organization before he allegedly did the bombing, and before that he had been trained as a special ops sniper — I believe that was in the Army. I’m sorry, it just stinks to high heaven. He had also worked as a guard at Calspan which was involved in some technology that’s used in mind control. The threads are just all over the place.

E: David Hoffman wrote a book about that [The Oklahoma City Bombing and the Politics of Terror, with a foreword by Rep. Charles Key (Feral House, 1998)] and made every connection but the mind control connection.

K: Alex Constantine wrote some about it and got a little braver than most.

E: Yes, he did, and he paid for that bravery.

K: Yes, he did.

E: What are some of the names that Nazis might be calling themselves today?

K: What they called themselves mostly at the meetings that I went to is simply Aryan. They don’t even like calling themselves white supremacists that much because that’s really an external term that’s put on them. They don’t like to consider that they are supremacists; they think that they’re the norm. There are different groups that you’ll hear about in the news, but what people don’t understand is that those are just the small eruptions from the underground. It’s a huge underground and each group has a separate name, and yet they network together very closely. National Alliance is very active in our area and do a lot of recruiting through skä music, their website, one-on-one, etc.

E: We already agreed that the Third Reich has continued in America, but if it’s the Third Reich that I’m thinking of, they are not really going to be compromising with Freemasons, Jesuits, mafia, and other groups presently getting along together for the sake of their great enterprise. Doesn’t the Third Reich want to have top priority in America?

K: Absolutely. They want to rule, that’s the bottom line. They want to be in control and they want to rule the world. Ever since I met these people, that was their goal. They would do whatever it takes to get there.

E: How do you feel they’re doing in America now? Are they succeeding?

K: No, I don’t think they are, although I am concerned about who we have in high office right now. [Laughs] I’m very concerned because of who his father is and his father’s connections to them. They’re just like any other group that wants to have control: they’re going to put their people in positions of power and influence. So a lot of times, because they’ve put their people in certain positions it looks like they’re succeeding, but then I look at all the other people who are not part of their system and it helps me to keep a balance in my own mind about this stuff, because otherwise, honey, I wouldn’t even try to live. If I really thought they were running the world, I’d just check out, I really would because I can’t take that anymore.

E: Mind control strikes me as a tremendous ace in the hole –

K: For now, because not enough people know about it and because through the False Memory Syndrome Foundation and a few other agencies they’ve been managing to keep people in the dark about what’s really going on. But I don’t think that’s going to continue.

E: Why?

K: Because the survivors won’t let it. [Laughs] We’re fed up, we’re tired, we’re angry, and we’re not going to shut up. We’re getting smarter, we’re getting more organized, and they’re getting exposed for who and what they really are. So I’m convinced the tide will be turning pretty soon.
The other thing, too, is that we’re realizing this is a huge civil rights issue and that’s an angle we hadn’t considered. We’ve been so busy trying to educate people about mind control and ritual abuse that we didn’t realize it’s a civil rights issue for us. That puts a new face on it that ought to be put on it, and I think that’s going to help people understand more that this is not about something spooky and eerie and bizarre; this is a civil rights issue that needs to be addressed.

E: I wholeheartedly agree. While reading your book, I noticed that both of your cover jobs were for insurance companies. Do you have any reason to believe the insurance industry is complicit with some of the cults who accessed you?

K: I’ve talked with other survivors and it’s surprising how many of them worked for insurance agencies that were aware they were being used to do things that were kind of odd. [Laughs] One of the companies I worked for — and I won’t say which company — had a huge Florida account called Homebuilders that was used for laundering money. I’m not quite sure who it was laundered for, but my guess would be the CIA. Huge premiums, fake policies which gave a reason for the money to be coming in, and I’m not quite sure where it went after that. So even though they were handling me and other people in the department and sending us out on ops, they were also using the company for that. I think it’s going to be harder to do that now because there’s more restriction on how much you can get away with in insurance, so I don’t know where that’s going to head.

E: When you mention the retired Army general you call “Poppa” — affiliated either with the Army’s ISA (Intelligence Support Activity) or the ASA (Army Security Agency) — you introduce the interesting idea that alters of a mind-control slave can be used by warring factions, such as Operation Clean Sweep. How does that work?

K: If they know that a person has multiple personalities or alter states being used and controlled, and if they know anything about how to use that technology, they can go into that person’s mind and if they can even talk to just one alter state that’s willing to talk to them, they can talk that alter state into working for them if they use the right techniques and persuasions. It’s not that hard to do. It was done to me and it was done to my husband, also. From what I’ve read about [Lee Harvey] Oswald, I’m pretty sure it was done to him back then, too. And I know from my dad that he had alter states that were also being run by an agency from another country. He had both sides going on, too. I think it’s a game for some of these guys. I think it’s fun for them, actually, just to see how they can get a person to be a double and even triple agent and not even know they’re an agent, at all.

E: I picture them as being from different factions, all jockeying for position; even though they are going along with each other for the sake of the grand enterprise, they’re still competing.

K: Right. They all have their little secret missions and plans, along with what they’ll allow the other groups to know.

E: Because the pattern of an early marriage seems to be typical of many mind control victims, do you feel that your first husband, Albert, was actually chosen for you by someone, given that you were just graduating high school and your mother was about to divorce your father?

K: I’m convinced of it because my first husband’s father and my dad were business partners in the black market. My first husband’s father announced that he was a Nazi immigrant. It’s too coincidental to be coincidental.

E: As though to have a handler –

K: Exactly.

E: Was your first husband ritually abused as well?

K: Ritually, I don’t know, but his father was incredibly abusive mentally and I believe physically. He was a hard-core sadistic Nazi, and my first husband was really messed up from him and seriously hated the man. In fact, my first husband’s siblings told me they had absolute hatred for the man, and for a child to get that way a lot has to be done to the child for the child to have that kind of a hatred when they grow up.

E: Do you think your first husband was aware of this deal? Did he take you as a deal?

K: Yes, I think he was very much aware because as time went on, he got to the point where he was taking me and my daughter to the Aryan meetings, and he was also taking me to a facility, a psychiatric hospital, where I was being reprogrammed. He knew exactly what he was doing. But I also believe that he was under a lot of pressure from my dad and probably some others. I think he was afraid for his life if he didn’t do what he was supposed to do with me. What’s interesting is [laughs] that he eventually went from Aryan to being the pastor of a black church. He turned around completely, so I think once he had free will he made some major changes in his life, and I think that’s wonderful.

E: You say, “I’ve learned the hard way that when one marries a severely dissociated person, one may not marry all of the partner.” What do you mean when you say this?

K: I know with my husband now, because he has alter states that are not the kind of alter states that commit to a marriage [laughs], he has had to keep real tight control on them, frankly, but because he’s older now and has a lot of physical problems, that hasn’t been as much of a problem. I had the same problem. When I found my alter states and they started coming out, they were like, ‘The hell! I’m not going to be married to this guy! I want to be free, I want to party.’ So it was very difficult for both of us — his were coming out and mine were coming out, and some of them on both sides did not want to be married.

E: [Laughs] It’s like having a whole baseball team married to each other.

K: Oh Lord, yes. [Laughs] If we both didn’t have good therapists who understood how to work with this stuff, our marriage would not have survived, there’s no question about it.

E: I wonder how many people are in that situation and don’t realize it.

K: Oh, probably quite a few, and even when you do realize it, that doesn’t make it any easier. [Laughs]

E: As you admit in your book, your present husband had spook alters, was in Special Forces and the Army for 30 years. Why are you sure he is not just your handler?

K: He was at one point. I have remembered enough about him to know that even before we officially met at work, he had been one of my assigned handlers now and then, especially through the Army. So when I met him at an Aryan meeting and then several years later at work — officially, consciously at work — I was drawn to him. That’s that Stockholm Syndrome definitely. So it’s been a challenge because when I connected with my alter states that had known him in the past, I was absolutely terrified. I was like, ‘I have just made one of the biggest mistakes of my life.’ I covered this extensively with my therapist and insisted that he get into therapy with someone who knew how to work with people like him. So we went through a lot of therapy individually and as a couple. The most important thing I learned that I had to do was think for myself and make my own decisions. Even when he wasn’t handling me per se, he was still controlling me because he was from the Army — oh, and I need to specify that I don’t know that he was ever in Special Forces but he had Special Forces training and he was used to do special ops, okay? He was used to being a controller and I was used to being controlled, and we both had to make some major, major changes. It ended up being a good thing because frankly it was exhausting for him to be controlling me. He never got to have his own life, he never got to have his own fun exploring what was important for him in life because he was so focused on me. So as I got stronger and learned to make decisions for myself, he was able to back off and relax and trust me to make my own decisions. Now, that does not mean that parts of him can’t be reaccessed again to try to mess with me, and I’m very much aware of that.

E: And he is, too, I take it?

K: Not as much as I am, unfortunately. He’s dropped out of therapy because he was having a lot of physical problems and to remember the traumas that created the alter states and deal with all the physical problems was way too much for him. So I’m a lot more on guard than he is, and there are several people locally who do occasionally try to push those buttons in him –

E: Try to reaccess him?

K: Oh yeah. I’ve had to work extensively with him to just recognize that these people are doing this to him. Unfortunately, because he’s not totally connected yet with those parts of him, it makes it very difficult for him to recognize it. It’s scary.

E: That’s amazing that you can just keep going.

K: [Laughs] It’s a lot of work, but I have also really grown to love him, I mean genuinely love him because except for my baby daughter, I never really felt strong love toward anyone. So I’m willing to go the extra mile for him.

E: You said that your present husband Bill was able to discern the difference between a handler and a controlling person by assessing their odd and controlling behaviors, triggering phrases, government connections, and lack of emotional affect. Would you recommend these as criteria to others who get confused about the difference between a controlling person and a handler?

K: I think they’re very helpful but I think it also takes having another person monitoring the situation because when you go into a trance state when you’re contacted by a person who is a handler, you can’t recognize all of that. Until you get away from that handler and sit down and analyze what that handler’s behaviors and actions have been, you can’t recognize it. That’s one of the things I worked on Bill a lot with. After he was contacted, he was in a trance state and didn’t realize what was going on. After the contact was over, I would sit down with him and ask him what he saw, what he heard, do you think this is appropriate, do you think this is normal, he sounds kind of abusive to me, what do you think — you know.

E: Had you been present at the contact or not?

K: Oh yeah, and I would be infuriated because I knew exactly what they were doing, and a lot of times these people would smile while they were doing it. Oh! That more than anything angered me.

E: And there’s so few ways to expose these people, aren’t there?

K: Yeah, it’s very difficult. Again, because not enough people know how this works, how it’s done. The more people learn about it, the more they’ll know what to look for.

E: They’re often community members, aren’t they?

K: Oh yeah, and again it’s because these different groups will put their people in influential positions. They know how to live double lives, just like my dad very successfully lived a double life until he was arrested. He was an upstanding citizen, involved in several clubs and organizations that were for the welfare of the community. He was a church member, in the choir, led youth groups — of course — in church. He was just a wonderful man, so who would ever have thought he was raping and torturing and killing children. Very effective.

E: The sociopath seems like the perfect personality for the double life.

K: Exactly.

E: You mentioned hexagrams in rituals. Why hexagrams instead of pentagrams?

K: I really don’t know enough about that to know why. When my dad ever did mention it, he indicated they were above the satanists who used the pentagram. It was like a step higher in the occult structure and that’s really all I know.

E: When you were with Albert, your first husband, you mention being involved with a church called the Church of the Living Word. Would you caution people regarding churches and other spiritual groups that may be using programming techniques?

K: Definitely. There’s a man named Dick Sutphen who has a website that addresses specifically how churches use mind control on their members. I think that should be required reading for anyone who goes to a church.

E: Coming out of programming, it must be very tempting to people to just jump into a church.

K: Absolutely. I went to so many churches even as I was starting to heal because I needed someone to tell me what to think and do and believe. I had spent my entire life depending on other people to dictate everything to me, so I had to continue finding people who would do that. The hardest thing for me has been to not go to church and to not let people do that. I’ve had to grow up a lot.

E: You’ve kept your faith, though?

K: I’ve kept my faith, I have no problem with that. Part of my problem now is I went to a seminary for a year and a half and in a lot of ways it was a real good experience. It helped me to break a lot of the religious programming my dad had used through scriptures. I learned the real meanings for the scriptures. That was real important. But I also learned how much just through tradition — like a pastor passing on a tradition to the person that he’s teaching to be the next pastor — there is a lot of mind control going on in churches now. People don’t even realize there’s anything wrong with it. It’s the norm.

E: Is it intentional mind control or is it letting someone else, an “expert,” do your thinking for you?

K: It seems to be intentional, but the flavor of it seems to be that the pastors do it because they think it’s for the congregation’s good. They seem to really believe that it makes them more in line with what God wants them to do and be, and that’s very dangerous. I think it’s so crucial that pastors encourage congregations to think for themselves. I live in what’s called the buckle of the Bible belt, and it’s all over the place here.

E: You mention people in dark hoods — I’ve always associated that with satanism. Would you say that your dad was in a satanic cult or was it specifically just Aryan or do they overlap?

K: My dad basically ran his own cult in Pennsylvania. It was a small cult. Later on, when we moved to Georgia, he hooked up with other people who were more Aryan-flavored but even they were still practicing occultism and using rituals to traumatize the children, break their minds, and prepare them for whatever. It all comes together. When Dad was doing the rituals in Pennsylvania, it wasn’t so much Aryan as it was satanism mixed with Luciferianism. He did both. It had to do with his German belief system that had both the good and the bad together, that both were important parts of life. So Satan was important and so was Lucifer. I don’t know how to explain this because when he was doing this, I was just a little girl and all I knew was what he told me.

E: When he was using scriptures, what was his purpose?

K: Most of that was because as part of his cover, he was taking me to a Lutheran church on a regular basis. So he knew that if he used these scriptures in the rituals, then when I heard it in regular church that would reinforce what he had told me.

E: In your introduction, you said that it is a lie when people say that people commit evil acts because they are driven by evil spirits, and yet later you say: “For many years, I’d felt a great blackness inside. Although I didn’t know what it meant, I now think it represented the amnesic barrier between my conscious self and hidden alter-states. I had also sensed for a long time that something evil was in my soul, but I hadn’t known what it was.” What did you mean by this evil if you don’t believe in spirits?

K: Myself. The part of me that enjoyed hurting other people. The part of me that enjoyed inflicting pain on other people. That was the part of me that went way over the line. Again, I don’t know if I would have done it if I hadn’t been controlled. I might have, but because again that part of me was compartmentalized and was only out when it was being brought out by the handlers. But those parts of me were the parts of me that responded because of the pain that had been given to me. They inflicted the pain on other people and enjoyed it thoroughly, and that’s so sick.

E: So that was one of the parts whose goods parts you were able to reintegrate?

K: Right. I don’t know about ‘good parts’ — that’s kind of hard to say.

E: I was thinking of courage, daring — that sort of thing.

K: Yeah.

E: That makes sense in the reintegration process and why it’s so important.

K: And self-forgiveness was a big part of it because when I integrated with those parts, I experienced what they had experienced, I felt what they had felt, and then I understood why they became the way they did, and I no longer hated them. I felt compassion for them and therefore for myself. But until I was willing to go there, which was very frightening, because I didn’t know if I was going to come back. I was afraid I was going to become that way permanently as the host personality; that terrified me.

E: Was that early in recovery?

K: About midway; I couldn’t have done it earlier.

E: I’m sure there are other survivors who are terrified of those things in themselves.

K: Of course. Who wants to believe that they have that in them? I have a friend who was sexually abused as a child. That friend is in recovery and has discovered that she has pedophile tendencies inside of her. She’s never going to do it, but she has had the courage to say that it is in her because of what was done to her as a child. I have so much admiration for her. She is, by the way, an advocate for children to the max because she recognizes that (1) it is in her because of what was done to her as a child, (2) there’s no way in hell she’s ever going to allow it to come out with any kids, and (3) she doesn’t want the kids to go through what she’s been through. So she’s turned around what was evil and made it a wonderful thing.

E: Regarding screen memories that are implanted and real memories, how do you know the difference? You mention reviewing the facial expressions on the faces of those in your memories. Were your senses and sensory memory so acute that you could recall such details and therefore know that it was not a screen memory?

K: That’s a good question. By screen memory — in that part of the book — I would be looking out a window and a helicopter would be coming and they’d put me in a hypnotic state and make me think it was a tornado coming, so I’d be scared and want to run and hide. At the time, I was so convinced it was a tornado that I didn’t pay attention to what I was seeing on their faces; I was just trying to stay alive. But as I went back in memory and saw the smirks and other details, then I would realize that they had been messing with me. The reason I was able to remember these details is because I was very sensitive to stuff like that in other people because I was so darned insecure about myself.

E: I have heard from other survivors that your senses get very acute under mind control because you’re operating in such a narrow band of consciousness.

K: Right, and what’s really strange about that is especially if you’re under stress, some of the peripheral memory seems to be gone but what you’re really focused on, you will definitely see and remember when it comes up, very clearly.

E: When I was talking about screen memories, I think of themes like the alien motif and trying to figure out what exactly it is. Were screen memories via drugs, hypnosis, movies, etc., implanted in you?

K: This is very strange. I shared in the CKLN interview back in 1997 [http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Shadowlands/6583/project192.html] that I have had two memories of being taken down in a tunnel system into hermetically sealed rooms by people who wore white suits and I saw what I was told were aliens. They spoke a language that I’ve never heard before or since. But then other people in the system explained to me later that they were genetically created test-tube babies. They said that the Nazis had brought that technology with them after World War Two.

E: And you were told this by some of your alters?

K: No. By some of the people who were running me. They were quite proud of it. These were Nazis, they were very proud of it. They said that our government’s been doing it ever since. Now, what part of our government I don’t know. At that time when I met those what I call “children” — because they look like aliens –

E: Like grays?

K: Yeah. I thought they were aliens, but then later these people explained to me that they were test-tube children and that they’ve been breeding them from generation to generation to become even more that way. So that is another possibility that people may be exposed to them, and who wouldn’t think they’re aliens? — I don’t have an answer to some of this stuff, all I know is what I’ve personally experienced.

E: But you trust that memory?

K: Oh yeah, it was very vivid. Very unusual.

E: Late in the book, you say, “I told [my therapist] that I was beginning to grasp the powerful connection between addiction to secrecy and seeking employment within an intelligence agency. Over and over, I’d heard that the CIA and other intelligence agencies expected their employees to lie as part of their employment. If the employees couldn’t be honest with their families and neighbors about their employment, did lying gradually become second nature? And how many of them gravitated to intelligence agencies because, having grown up in secretive families, such environments were most comfortable?” Am I right in assuming that part of what you’re suggesting is that many CIA candidates might be chosen because of their family conditioning?

K: I believe so. I don’t think it’s necessary that the people interviewing and testing them would have to know specifically what their family background is, but there are certain characteristics that would show up in the testing, and they go through extreme testing before they even pass first base, really. So I think it’s a lot like it was with people like my husband in the Army that were used in certain ways. I’m not saying that — it makes it sound like I’m saying the CIA is all bad. I don’t mean to give that impression, but I think that there are certain people and pockets in the CIA who are using this for nefarious purposes.

E: Which makes sense, given that their hierarchic, need-to-know form of organization would protect those elements.

K: Exactly.

E: You say, “My support network has helped me to understand that I was not and am not a perpetrator, because perpetrators commit crimes by choice. I was a good person who was repeatedly forced into the most awful situations. I did what was necessary to survive and remain sane.” Is this the ultimate difference between victims and perpetrators — between tools and murderers: that perpetrators commit crimes by choice and victims don’t?

K: I wish it was so black and white, that would be very nice. I’m interning in a facility now where I am meeting people who have committed crimes who have mental illnesses, who weren’t quite mentally there when they did those things — some of them regressed to earlier times in their lives when they were doing it. So that’s the gray area, and that’s the area where there needs to be a lot more compassion in the legal system. But comparing me and my father, I had a lot of opportunities to do harm to others — and it didn’t even have to be physical; it could have been just plain being mean to somebody — I chose not to even though it was in me to do it and I knew it was in me to do it. I would find a way to distract myself, even if it meant taking a long hard walk — whatever I had to do to keep from hurting other people. It was in me and I knew it was in me. I did hurt my daughter badly one time and that was one of those times when I switched and found out I had done it. What was evil about that was I made her feel like it was her fault. That, to me, I’m sorry, I consider that unforgivable. But in general I tried very, very hard never to let that part of me come out on anyone else. My dad made hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of choices; even when he was planning a ritual, he knew he was going to condition and traumatize me with killed children. He had to make probably twenty different choices to set that up. Each choice was a choice of evil.

E: The area of mind control where you’re splitting the personality into a variety of compartments really obscures the whole issue of choice, and now that we know about this technology we’ve got to really examine the choice factor.
You mention that when the flashbacks of porn shoots get ridiculous, you start poking fun at the grotesque memories instead of letting them retraumatize you. Can you talk to survivors a little about the use of humor in recovery?

K: I don’t think it’s possible to recover from these types of traumas without developing a sense of humor. My humor starting out in recovery was very dark, very sarcastic, very cutting. I developed the Up Uranus website back in about the mid-1990s and some other mind control survivors made poems and little songs as messages on the internet for our perpetrators. It was our way of expressing our rage at them. But then I realized that for me it was not healthy; it was keeping me stuck in my anger. Part of the way I was able to have a healthier sense of humor was to find something good in what had happened to me — not necessarily good at that time but something I could make good out of it now. By doing that, I was able to feel more relief and less anger and my humor became happier. I’m able to laugh a lot more now, and for me it’s crucial. A book came out maybe ten years ago about laughter being healing physically; I think it’s healing emotionally, too. If I don’t have a sense of humor, I’m not worth a hill of beans.

E: You describe your slow reintegration process. Does this mean you see reintegration as a slow process and not a matter of a few therapeutic sessions? Do you believe everyone has to reintegrate in order to “be better”?

K: If a person’s been severely traumatized, whether it’s one time or a series of times or for over thirty years like me, a couple of sessions is just not going to do it. At the same time, I don’t know that it’s necessary for everyone even to go into therapy. Like my friend who realized she had that dark side in her that could hurt children, if they’re aware of it and are able to control it on their own and their past is not affecting their life now in a negative way in their relationships or whatever, more power to them. There’s other ways to heal besides therapy. There are support groups for one. And this is real important for survivors to know because a lot of them don’t have insurance and cannot afford to pay a therapist. It’s a terrible situation right now, with HMOs especially. For someone like me, it has taken a very long time with intensive therapy, I’ve been hospitalized I believe seven-plus times now — I hope not to have to go in the hospital anymore, it was for major depression, by the way. Because I’ve been through so much — and there’s a lot I still don’t remember and I really don’t want to because it’s so darn traumatic — I’m going to be remembering and healing I know the rest of my life, no question about it. Every morning still, I write down at least three more memories that come to me when I wake up. It’s ridiculous.

E: Do you feel you’ve reintegrated most of the alters that were fragmented off?

K: As far as I know, I have. I know that there are some I’m not integrated with yet, but what’s happened is I’ve done work with them to where I am aware of what the memories and emotions are that they had compartmentalized. The edge is off. A lot of the strength of the memories is ebbed now. So some of these alter states that I have have one more issue that needs to be dealt with, a lot of times the issue that caused them to be created in the first place and I’m a wimp [laughs], I don’t want to go through that.

E: [Laughs] You’re hardly a wimp.

K: I feel like it sometimes. So what I do is when I have a month or a couple of months off from school, then I go ahead and I go, ‘Okay, let’s deal with it,’ and I take time off from life and do it. But those alter states are not much of a problem for me per se anymore in that I don’t switch and I don’t have daytime flashbacks like I used to. Being on Zyprexa, by the way, has been very, very helpful with the flashbacks and nightmares. Zyprexa is an anti-psychotic medication, but it also cuts down on flashbacks and nightmares. There’s another one called Risperdal. I had a problem with tremors with the Risperdal, that was bad, but the Zyprexa works great. Medications are helpful. I’ve taken several, I’m on Wellbutrin for depression and it’s very helpful.

E: Do you plan to stay on them or do you try to get off of them?

K: No, I plan to stay on them. I also take Ativan for anxiety, but only take it when I have to. Zyprexa and Wellbutrin are not habit-forming; Ativan is. Go back to the question.

E: Do you believe everyone has to reintegrate in order to “be better”?

K: “Better”? No. Now, there are some trauma survivors who have alter states that were not developed out of ritual abuse or mind control. They were developed out of other traumas. If those survivors can find a way to be at peace with their alter states and it not affect their lives in a negative way, more power to them. The problem, though, is when you have alter states that were developed specifically for the sake of controlling you and using you to do illegal or immoral activities — it is an issue because it can happen again. This stuff is so… It’s done in such an assembly line fashion now that a survivor can move clear across the country; they might have certain behaviors or even jewelry that identifies their history that they don’t realize identifies it — they might have the mole markings on certain parts of their body that identifies them — and a perpetrator who doesn’t know them from Jack might come up to them, recognize something on them, and therefore know what their triggers are. It’s dangerous. And that’s why I think it’s important even if we don’t integrate — like I’m not fully integrated, but I’m co-conscious, I’m aware of what these other alter states have experienced enough to know what their buttons are, what their triggers are, so that if someone does come up to me now and start that crap, I know who they are and I know what they’re up to. It doesn’t get hold of me, it doesn’t trance me out to where I’m under their control. Now, I’m not saying it can’t happen, but I’ve also done a lot of EEG biofeedback which has been very helpful in not dissociating.

E: By showing portions of your brain activated?

K: What it did was — and this can be very triggering for survivors, it was very frightening for me to do because they hooked up electrodes to my scalp — [laughs] that brought back memories! But what I did was I would look at a computer screen. It helped me to stay more in the front part of my brain, which is where the beta brain waves are — the conscious, cognitive part of my brain. That way, I was less likely to trance out. I don’t do it much now, but I used to be able to sit in a room and pick out a spot on the far wall, a little tiny dot, stare at it, and the whole room would go away. I dissociated very easily and frankly, dissociation was my drug of choice. I didn’t need anything else, although I used to like marijuana very much and if it were legal, I’d probably smoke it now. But dissociation was my drug of choice. It was an addiction. It was a way to escape anything that was unpleasant. So I’ve had to work very, very hard at staying present when things are unpleasant or scary or frightening or embarrassing, and to not look at that little dot on the floor or wall and zone out.

E: And that’s important for other survivors to do as well.

K: I think it’s crucial. I don’t think I would have gotten to the point where I’m not a victim, at least as far as I know, had I not really worked on staying present.

E: How do you think perpetrators see your “coming out”? I know you’re careful about certain names. Do you feel that keeping silence on those names will save your life? How do you live with knowing that they don’t like what you’re doing?

K: I’m blunt about this: the people I’m most afraid of are the people from Cobb County, Georgia. They are extremely dangerous, they’re Aryans, murder is no problem for them. They’ve made waves here for me. There are several people who are allegedly from the CIA Directorate of Operations who made life miserable for me in 1997. There are people who for whatever reason seem truly terrified that I might say things about them. That’s their problem. My concern is to get information out in a way that’s going to help people to heal and help people to recognize what’s going on with survivors. I don’t give a flip about those perpetrators much anymore. I used to focus a lot on them, but then that kept me from healing. What I do now is — like I name my father, but that’s partly because I have my stepmother’s permission and partly because I know for a fact that he hurt a lot of children, and I know that there may be some people who will see his face in the picture in the book and understood who and then they’ll know why. They deserve to know that. A lot of people that I could name I’m not naming, and it’s not because so much I’m afraid of them as it is I’m realizing that by naming them it narrows down people’s attention on them to where they’re not aware that there’s a lot of other people out there like them. So that’s why I’m trying to put more information in the book about their methods and their mentality, their types of behaviors, so that people won’t focus on one person and not realize that there’s other people doing the same stuff.

E: At the beginning of this interview, I quote from your “Mary Magdalene” poem that you crossed out in your manuscript. What are you going to do with all those poems you’ve crossed out?

K: [Laughs] Gordon Thomas put out a book about Mary Magdalene and he sent me a copy. He’ s been very helpful and given me the courage to put my book out, by the way. He hooked me up with my publisher. I think he’s a wonderful man. I read the book and realized how much that character was similar to what I had been growing up and even as a young adult, and it helped bring up those feelings that I put into the poem. But then I was afraid to put it in the book because I don’t want to offend certain groups of people to where they won’t be willing to learn from what else is in the book. It’s hard to know what to do with it sometimes. I have other poetry too that I think would be very useful — I’ll do something with it.

E: Last comments?

K: Again, I think we need to focus on mind control being a civil rights issue. There are several other pro-survivor groups that are now making the same decision and we’re getting more organized together. We’re realizing this is the way we’re going to have to present it to get the attention we need because as long as we keep calling it ‘mind control’ or ‘ritual abuse,’ it’s too easy for people to put it in a little slot and keep it there.

E: Is anyone writing about that, the civil rights aspect?

K: There’s one group, RAT, Jeanne Sarson and Linda MacDonald in Canada. I believe they’re even going to be addressing the UN pretty soon about it. There’s a movie called Mississippi Burning and a song at the end of it called “Walk On,” a group of black people singing it. Every time I hear that song, I break down and cry like a baby because I realize that even though the song was about black civil rights issues, it applies directly to us. We have to keep on walking on, no matter what happens, no matter what obstacles are in our way, no matter who gets potshots and gets hurt and killed along the way that we love dearly. We’ve got to keep on going and not give up. See, the perpetrators think we’re going to, and so if we do, they win. We can’t let them win, and that’s the bottom line for me. Until I can’t write anymore or talk anymore, I’m going to keep communicating this stuff. I have committed my life to doing this, and I feel a great joy now because I’ve made that decision. I went through several years of stark raving fear because I knew that there might be a great cost for doing this, but then I realized that if I don’t do it, I’m going to spend the rest of my life being miserable because I could have done it and didn’t. As soon as I made the decision, I am at such peace now and feel such joy. It’s really exciting.

E: Thank you so much, Kathleen. I appreciate the time and all the love you’ve poured into quite a gift to people when your book comes out. Could you again say the name of the book?

US PATENT -6,506,148 – NERVOUS SYSTEM MANIPULATION BY ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS FROM MONITORS–Physiological effects have been observed in a human subject in response to stimulation of the skin with weak electromagnetic fields that are pulsed with certain frequencies near 1/2 Hz or 2.4 Hz, such as to excite a sensory resonance. Many computer monitors and TV tubes, when displaying pulsed images, emit pulsed electromagnetic fields of sufficient amplitudes to cause such excitation. It is therefore possible to manipulate the nervous system of a subject by pulsing images displayed on a nearby computer monitor or TV set. For the latter, the image pulsing may be embedded in the program material, or it may be overlaid by modulating a video stream, either as an RF signal or as a video signal. The image displayed on a computer monitor may be pulsed effectively by a simple computer program. For certain monitors, pulsed electromagnetic fields capable of exciting sensory resonances in nearby subjects may be generated even as the displayed images are pulsed with subliminal intensity.

US PATENT 4,877,027–HEARING SYSTEM –Sound is induced in the head of a person by radiating the head with microwaves in the range of 100 megahertz to 10,000 megahertz that are modulated with a particular waveform. The waveform consists of frequency modulated bursts. Each burst is made up of ten to twenty uniformly spaced pulses grouped tightly together. The burst width is between 500 nanoseconds and 100 microseconds. The pulse width is in the range of 10 nanoseconds to 1 microsecond. The bursts are frequency modulated by the audio input to create the sensation of hearing in the person whose head is irradiated.

US PATENT 6,011,991–COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD INCLUDING BRAIN WAVE ANALYSIS AND/OR USE OF BRAIN ACTIVITY–A system and method for enabling human beings to communicate by way of their monitored brain activity. The brain activity of an individual is monitored and transmitted to a remote location (e.g. by satellite). At the remote location, the monitored brain activity is compared with pre-recorded normalized brain activity curves, waveforms, or patterns to determine if a match or substantial match is found. If such a match is found, then the computer at the remote location determines that the individual was attempting to communicate the word, phrase, or thought corresponding to the matched stored normalized signal.

US PATENT 4,858,612 – HEARING DEVICE –A method and apparatus for simulation of hearing in mammals by introduction of a plurality of microwaves into the region of the auditory cortex is shown and described. A microphone is used to transform sound signals into electrical signals which are in turn analyzed and processed to provide controls for generating a plurality of microwave signals at different frequencies. The multifrequency microwaves are then applied to the brain in the region of the auditory cortex. By this method sounds are perceived by the mammal which are representative of the original sound received by the microphone.

US PATENT 3,951,134 – APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR REMOTELY MONITORING AND ALTERING BRAIN WAVES–Apparatus for and method of sensing brain waves at a position remote from a subject whereby electromagnetic signals of different frequencies are simultaneously transmitted to the brain of the subject in which the signals interfere with one another to yield a waveform which is modulated by the subject’s brain waves. The interference waveform which is representative of the brain wave activity is re-transmitted by the brain to a receiver where it is demodulated and amplified. The demodulated waveform is then displayed for visual viewing and routed to a computer for further processing and analysis. The demodulated waveform also can be used to produce a compensating signal which is transmitted back to the brain to effect a desired change in electrical activity therein.

US PATENT 5,159,703 – SILENT SUBLIMINAL PRESENTATION SYSTEM –A silent communications system in which nonaural carriers, in the very low or very high audio frequency range or in the adjacent ultrasonic frequency spectrum, are amplitude or frequency modulated with the desired intelligence and propagated acoustically or vibrationally, for inducement into the brain, typically through the use of loudspeakers, earphones or piezoelectric transducers.

US PATENT 5,507,291- METHOD AND AN ASSOCIATED APPARATUS FOR REMOTELY DETERMINING INFORMATION AS TO A PERSON’S EMOTIONAL STATE–In a method for remotely determining information relating to a person’s emotional state, an waveform energy having a predetermined frequency and a predetermined intensity is generated and wirelessly transmitted towards a remotely located subject. Waveform energy emitted from the subject is detected and automatically analyzed to derive information relating to the individual’s emotional state. Physiological or physical parameters of blood pressure, pulse rate, pupil size, respiration rate and perspiration level are measured and compared with reference values to provide information utilizable in evaluating interviewee’s responses or possibly criminal intent in security sensitive areas.

US PATENT: US5629678:IMPLANTABLE TRANSCEIVER-Apparatus for Tracking And Recovering Humans.

US PATENT FOR BARCODE TATTOO – US PATENT 5,878,155 –Method for verifying human identity during electronic sale transactions. A method is presented for facilitating sales transactions by electronic media. A bar code or a design is tattooed on an individual. Before the sales transaction can be consummated, the tattoo is scanned with a scanner. Characteristics about the scanned tattoo are compared to characteristics about other tattoos stored on a computer database in order to verify the identity of the buyer. Once verified, the seller may be authorized to debit the buyer’s electronic bank account in order to consummate the transaction. The seller’s electronic bank account may be similarly updated.

US PATENT 5,539,705 – ULTRASONIC SPEECH TRANSLATOR AND COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM–A wireless communication system undetectable by radio frequency methods for converting audio signals, including human voice, to electronic signals in the ultrasonic frequency range, transmitting the ultrasonic signal by way of acoustical pressure waves across a carrier medium, including gases, liquids, or solids, and reconverting the ultrasonic acoustical pressure waves back to the original audio signal. The ultrasonic speech translator and communication system (20) includes an ultrasonic transmitting device (100) and an ultrasonic receiving device (200). The ultrasonic transmitting device (100) accepts as input (115) an audio signal such as human voice input from a microphone (114) or tape deck.

US PATENT 5,629,678 – PERSONAL TRACKING AND RECOVERY SYSTEM–Apparatus for tracking and recovering humans utilizes an implantable transceiver incorporating a power supply and actuation system allowing the unit to remain implanted and functional for years without maintenance. The implanted transmitter may be remotely actuated, or actuated by the implantee. Power for the remote-activated receiver is generated electromagnetically through the movement of body muscle. The device is small enough to be implanted in a child, facilitating use as a safeguard against kidnapping, and has a transmission range which also makes it suitable for wilderness sporting activities. A novel biological monitoring feature allows the device to be used to facilitate prompt medical dispatch in the event of heart attack or similar medical emergency. A novel sensation-feedback feature allows the implantee to control and actuate the device with certainty.

US PATENT 5,760,692 – INTRA-ORAL TRACKING DEVICE-An intra-oral tracking device adapted for use in association with a tooth having a buccal surface and a lingual surface, the apparatus comprises a tooth mounting member having an inner surface and an outer surface, the inner surface including adhesive material.

US PATENT 5,868,100 – FENCELESS ANIMAL CONTROL SYSTEM USING GPS LOCATION INFORMATION–A fenceless animal confinement system comprising portable units attached to the animal and including means for receiving GPS signals and for providing stimulation to the animal. The GPS signals are processed to provide location information which is compared to the desired boundary parameters. If the animal has moved outside the desired area, the stimulation means is activated. The signal processing circuitry may be included either within the portable unit or within a separate fixed station.

US PATENT 5,905,461 – GLOBAL POSITIONING SATELLITE TRACKING DEVICE–A global positioning and tracking system for locating one of a person and item of property. The global positioning and tracking system comprises at least one tracking device for connection to the one of the person and item of property including a processing device for determining a location of the tracking device and generating a position signal and a transmitter for transmitting said position signal.

US PATENT 5,935,054 – MAGNETIC EXCITATION OF SENSORY RESONANCES–The invention pertains to influencing the nervous system of a subject by a weak externally applied magnetic field with a frequency near 1/2 Hz. In a range of amplitudes, such fields can excite the 1/2 sensory resonance, which is the physiological effect involved in “rocking the baby”.

US PATENT 5,952,600 -ENGINE DISABLING WEAPON– A non-lethal weapon for disabling an engine such as that of a fleeing car by means of a high voltage discharge that perturbs or destroys the electrical circuits.

US PATENT 6,006,188 – SPEECH SIGNAL PROCESSING FOR DETERMINING PSYCHOLOGICAL OR PHYSIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS USING A KNOWLEDGE BASE

US PATENT 6,014,080 – BODY WORN ACTIVE AND PASSIVE TRACKING DEVICE –Tamper resistant body-worn tracking device to be worn by offenders or potential victims for use in a wireless communication system receiving signals from a global positioning system (GPS).

US PATENT 6,017,302 – SUBLIMINAL ACOUSTIC MANIPULATION OF NERVOUS SYSTEMS –In human subjects, sensory resonances can be excited by subliminal atmospheric acoustic pulses that are tuned to the resonance frequency. The 1/2 Hz sensory resonance affects the autonomic nervous system and may cause relaxation, drowsiness, or sexual excitement, depending on the precise acoustic frequency near 1/2 Hz used. The effects of the 2.5 Hz resonance include slowing of certain cortical processes, sleepiness, and disorientation. For these effects to occur, the acoustic intensity must lie in a certain deeply subliminal range. Suitable apparatus consists of a portable battery-powered source of weak sub-audio acoustic radiation. The method and apparatus can be used by the general public as an aid to relaxation, sleep, or sexual arousal, and clinically for the control and perhaps treatment of insomnia, tremors, epileptic seizures, and anxiety disorders. There is further application as a nonlethal weapon that can be used in law enforcement standoff situations, for causing drowsiness and disorientation in targeted subjects. It is then preferable to use venting acoustic monopoles in the form of a device that inhales and exhales air with sub-audio frequency.

US PATENT 6,051,594 – METHODS AND FORMULATIONS FOR MODULATING THE HUMAN SEXUAL RESPONSE–The invention is directed to improved methods for modulating the human sexual response by orally administering a formulation of the vasodilator phentolamine to the blood circulation and thereby modulating the sexual response on demand.

US PATENT 6,052,336 – APPARATUS AND METHOD OF BROADCASTING AUDIBLE SOUND USING ULTRASONIC SOUND AS A CARRIER–An ultrasonic sound source broadcasts an ultrasonic signal which is amplitude and/or frequency modulated with an information input signal originating from an information input source. If the signals are amplitude modulated, a square root function of the information input signal is produced prior to modulation. The modulated signal, which may be amplified, is then broadcast via a projector unit, whereupon an individual or group of individuals located in the broadcast region detect the audible sound.

Book Review by Columbia Jones [Former Editor of MKzine]

“I was always your favorite, I thought, and we all paid the price.”

Journalist Meredith Maran’s book My Lie would be more truthfully entitled if it said what she said it is: her “version of the truth” about her life during the mysterious “Satanic panic” years from 1983 to 1995.

She begins by referring to feminist scholars in the late 1970s who announced that one in three American women and one in ten American men are victims of childhood sexual abuse, primarily incest. She then introduces the problem of repressed memory and how, with media attention throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, hundreds of thousands were suddenly remembering abuse and talking about it. In 1976, reported cases of abuse and neglect were 669,000; in 1993, they had skyrocketed to 2.9 million. A million families were torn in two. Hundreds of alleged perpetrators went to jail.

Then came the national backlash that Maran rightly personifies as the well-funded False Memory Syndrome Foundation (FMSF), made up of accused parents and laypeople who coined the term “false memory syndrome” still misconstrued as a medical term. False memory versus recovered repressed memory: the memory wars in the courts and therapy sessions and media made a lot of people a lot of money (insurance settlements, therapists, expert witnesses, lawyers) and cast the nation into a cauldron of confusion, fear, anger, and grief. A Satanic fire swept the nation, but when it came to wondering w ho were the arsonists behind it, only children and therapists were blamed.

Maran is so caught up in justifying her personal story in terms of the out-of-control “Satanic panic” and incest of the era that she never pauses to probe deep recesses of a possible agenda. The closest she gets to wondering about the powers behind the newsprint is quoting feminist Katha Pollitt who said, “The media that ran with sensational stories is run by men who are hardly feminist”; and then “But if you look at who gets convicted, it’s mostly not people with a lot of social standing, sophistication or money for l awyers.” So why does Maran choose exactly those media as sources for headlines about the sensationalist Manhattan Beach preschool trial, or the Massachusetts couple kissing their toddler’s bottom? New York Times (17 references), Time magazine (8), New Yorker (1), Miami Herald (4), Los Angeles Times (2), Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, People, Mother Jones, ABCNews.com, MSNBC.com, etc. And as for the alleged perpetrators who were convicted, why isn’t she interested in probing their affiliations with people of higher social standing? I can only guess that Maran the journalist is either blinded by her own story or is working for FMSF types whose agenda she never questions. Indeed, it is odd that she knows so little about questions surrounding FMSF’s Jennifer and Peter Freyd, Richard Ofshe, and Elizabeth Loftus.

Throughout the book, she is confused regarding her memories of being sexually abused by her father. After the very first pages about her childhood in the 1950s, I wasn’t at all confused; it was obvious to me that her father at the very least had emotionally incested her.

During the workweek my father was the Invisible Man. But on weekends he was my companion and co-conspirator, sneaking me milkshakes be hind my mother’s back, rolling his eyes at me over her head when she protested…My father and I had everything in common, including this: we liked each other more than either of us liked my mother. She didn’t understand us. We only understood each other… (15-16)

It was the Elektra complex to the nth degree. More of an erotic playmate than a father, he turned into a jilted lover when Maran began dating. He never approved of the men she chose and “ignored, mocked, or scorned everyone I’d loved” (95). She was afraid of the dark. Throughout adulthood, the sound of his voice “made my pulse race and my heart pound with anticipation and fear” (93).

My father was doing what he’d always done. Punishing me for loving someone else. Claiming me and rejecting me. Forcing me to choose between pleasing him and being who I was. (95)

Eight years apart, ten minutes together, and already I could taste the ambrosia and the poison of our relationship. He knows me; he knows me too well. (180)

And the final Elektra moment is when her Alzheimer’s dad calls Meredith by her mother’s name: “You remember, Shirley, I got the job when you were pregnant with Meredith” (186). But even by page 199, Meredith still doesn’t get it: “Emotional incest: debatable.” Was there physical as well as emotional incest? Perhaps, but isn’t emotional incest devastating enough? Who decided on the terrible title of the book that is a lie? Did Maran lie? Not at all. First, she didn’t believe that all recovered memories are false memories, fantasies, or lies, and as she said on page 167:

“Whatever my accusation had been when I’d made it—a statement of truth, a statement of truth as I’d seen it at the time, a statement of solidarity with wounded girls and women everywhere, a crowbar I used to pry my father out of my head—it was something else now.”

And while talking with her friend Catherine:

Honesty. Authenticity. Story. Lie. Truth. The words swam in my head, arranging and rearranging themselves like the poetry word-magnets on my fridge. “But we lied,” I said.“I didn’t lie,” Catherine said. “I said what I believed to be true at the time.” She peered at me. “So did you,” she said. “You were tortured about your estrangement from your dad. You wouldn’t have gone through all that if you hadn’t believed your father molested you. You can’t tell me otherwise. I was there, remember?” (192)

What I come away asking is not was Meredith incested—she was; using a child for one’s emotional or sexual needs is incest—but is My Lie serving as a petard for the false memory phalanx in the child memories war? Something verging on cognitive dissonance has been cobbled together. Those of us who research the no man’s land of pedophilia and incest know that when things feel crazy or a little off, it’s time to pay attention.

No wonder we’d all gone nuts on Planet Incest, trying to distinguish memories from imaginings, truth from lies. Incest is the perfect false accusation for the victimhood seeker, just as it’s the perpetrator’s perfect crime. Beatings leave bruises. Neglect sends kids to school with tattered clothes. But I couldn’t have proved that my father had molested me, just as he couldn’t have proved that he hadn’t. (200)

Do I recommend the book? Not really. For those crazy “Satanic panic” years, John DeCamp’s 1992 book The Franklin Cover-up: Child Abuse, Satanism, and Murder in Nebraska is a much more objective case study.

On we go, looking for truth where angels fear to tread. Mistakes will be made, misleading books will be written, families will fall apart, but in the end, always, lost children within and without may be saved.
